Newbie (don't see the POI files on my Garmin)

Hello All,
I am brand new to the POI Factory and I just tried downloading my first POI files. It seemed as if everything went successfully and I got the message saying successful download of 14 new location but I don't see any new files on my Garmin. Where did I go wrong?

Touch WhereTo?, then scroll down to Extras and touch it, then touch Custom POIs. Your successfully downloaded POIs should be here. Touch any of them and they should appear. If your nuvi 260 works like my 750 or 855, you should see them here.
Did you transfer the files
Did you transfer the files to your GPS using POI Installer?

this is what you will need to do. you wont find them under your favorites or under any search, only in the extras

I know where they are but when it comes time to finding them on the GPS when I need them (to show off or something) I can never seem to find my way through the correct menu. Doh!

If you just need to remember the procedure, practice and you'll have fewer "Homer" moments
On the other hand, if you're looking for a nearby POI location on your GPS map, did you download an icon in addition to the POI file? If so, did you follow the loading instructions:

If you did all this already, your map may not be zoomed in enough for icons to appear. What happens if you plan a route to a custom POI location you downloaded, then go to it, either live or in simulator mode?
Then again, maybe your StreetPilot works differently than nuvis.
