I recently updated the software on my nuvi 660 (maybe about a month ago). Well after the upgrade, my traffic map seemed to stop working. It no longer shows as green or red depending on traffic. My gps did not come with lifetime traffic, but I have paid to have it for lifetime. After sending an e-mail to garmin, they are simply saying to upgrade the software again. The software IS up to date. Upgrading the software is what got me in this situation in the first place.

As I'm sure you've read in the referenced thread this is a firmware issue. You can either reinstall the previous firmware, if you have it, or wait for the fix in the next update.
I had the same issue with my unit and DorkusNimrod gave me the file linked below which is the previous firmware version for the 660. I reinstalled it and traffic started working normally again.

I have the 265t but have not used the traffic function yet but I would like to know if my version is up to date; it is GTM SW version 5.50

Yes that is the latest version.Looks like you keep your unit updated like I do.The traffic works well here in central FL but not 100% right all the time.Some areas better then others.
Edit.About a week or two ago there was a update for the traffic on the second page for webupdater.Not sure if that shows or changes GTM SW version.I would think that it would.
