Coordinates v Addresses

When entering new favorites on to my 255wt, is it more accurate to enter the addresses off of say Google maps or actual coordinates? I've noticed that when I go with the addresses my GPS will tell me I'm at the address when in fact I may be a hundred or even two hundred yards away. Thanks

Coordinates!

But only if the source of the coordinates is accurate.

We all hope this will get better in time, but geocoding addresses can be a hit or miss proposition. If you enter an address and the GPSr gets you within several hundred feet, be thankful that you can see the front door from where it took you. Sometimes the address will be shown miles from its actual location.

Some POI files were created by simply exporting an address file to a program that geocodes them to points on a map and generates the coordinates. When that is done, you're as likely to find the Walmart in the middle of a lake or on the wrong side of town.

Whenever possible, I try to obtain coordinates from Google, Bing, etc. where I can pinpoint the location I want. Street View has been a great help when it shows you the front of the business or the building you are looking for and then I snag the coordinates from the camera shot. That has proven to be more accurate for me.

Diesel Fuel Availability

Traveling around the country...I've never really had any problem finding Diesel fuel. I rarely use anything except large truck stops when traveling for two reasons: 1) 34ft 5th wheel RV being towed needs about the same room / height as a semi; 2) I've had serious problems buying contaminated fuel from small stations that do not turn over their supply.

Just my observations.
