Funny place to put a red light camera. In the first direction you see, no light at all, in the other direction (away from the camera) just the on ramp for the highway. But still no red light. Also there are 3 different cameras. The first is silver, the second gold, and the third has a different base. And not one looks like it was near any intersections. So if they wasn't red light cameras what were they? BTW they don't look like any I have seen around here. But that doesn't say a lot. Stupid flash puts a spot in your eyes when it goes off at night.

catch this moron and prosecute Her or Him to the fullest extent of the law. Vandalism isn't funny or the explosion isn't even beautiful.

If you break the law you deserve what you get. What most people don't know or have even considered is the cameras don't just do a single snap, it not a film camera it's a HD Video camera that is always running and the snap is just a frame capture.
Now if you talk to someone from Homeland Security, they will tell you they can look at the view of any one of the cameras at any time for obvious reasons.

Si if your thinking about taking your frustration out on a camera, I would highly recommend vandalism not be your approach, just because the video you watched was posted doesn't mean the poster now isn't in Jail.

Be a intelligent voter, put the proper people in office that share your ideals, and campaign aganst the officials that don't.

Don't become a statistic and become an inmate, what you viewed was juvenile and needs to be dealt with harshly.

This happened in Finland. That might be why it looks differently.

To the people that don't think it's funny, there's nothing you can do. The camera got blown up, and some will think it's funny. There's no point in getting mad, and saying that the person deserves to be prosecuted. Of course the authorities are looking for the person. Of course they'll be in big trouble. So if some people want to laugh at something that they'd love to do, but never would, where's the harm?

This reminds me of the news report last night, where a man drove his vehicle into the front of a store. He got mad at the clerk because they didn't turn the gas pump on fast enought. what is the sense of that.

If the speed Camera is in a high accident area and it's there to save lives, it's not funny. If it's there for a money grab It's funny. Looks like its in a rural area. In that case I say it's funny. It's my story am I'm sticking with it.

AS far as the video I like the idea behind this in that they are upset at the government and are striking back. The problem is now taxes, fines and anything else they can think of will go up to replace the cost of the camera. This is the wrong way of doing this.

It looks hilarious, but the sad thing is the tax payers are the ones getting the shaft.

It's hard to tell where this happened at, but if the close-up of the camera with the explosive charge taped to it is the same as the explosion footage, then I would say that it is in Europe somewhere. The direction sign in the background has a Blue background and in the U.S. all I've ever seen is a Green background. Plus, the route numbers are in colored rectangles, which is how they do it in Europe. The original footage is on StupidVideos.com.

The sad part about this is that if the person responsible continues to get away with it, then what will they escalate to. Maybe they don't like school buses going so slow, since they obviously like to speed - Hmmmm.

While I like seeing things blow up just as much as the next guy, I think I'll leave that to the Mythbusters, Smash Lab, etc.

It's kind of disturbing to know that there are people out there that think it's OK to destroy public (or private) property and have the explosives to do it.

There are proper ways to make your voice known and get laws changed, etc. this is not one of them.

This just shows what can happen when governments behave like thieves. Clearly someone is frustrated with all of these cameras being set up to rob motorists of their money. The better approach would be to ban the cameras legally, but if people feel they have no other recourse, they will take things into their own hands. By the way, this is not an isolated incident. It is fairly common in places where these awful devices are widespread. Hopefully, we can ban them in the U.S. and we won't end up with people feeling like this is their only recourse.

As for this video, at least they did it when no one was around to be hurt or injured by it.

Why is it that people seem to have a naive tendency to overly objectify the ideas expressed in writings such as the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence? Without question, these documents then become authoritative in themselves almost as the Word of God when people do not wrestle with the meaning of the things expressed within them.

I’d rather think that such things as Reason reside within the human mind something that is sometimes expressed as the spirit of the law, thus accounting for the correction of the original disconnect enshrined in the Declaration of Independence with the statement: “all men are created equal” while at the same time the reality of our situation then allowed slavery.

Of course, as I mentioned there’s the idea of fetishism of the law where (if I understand correctly) the law is elevated to a presumed state of near godlike infallibility and where obedience to the law is held above all other values. But here, the human conscience stands in opposition to this error so that if a particular law is perceived to be unjust, it (the law) can be disobeyed in order to follow a higher law.

I dislike being under the cold eye of the camera. It doesn’t set right with me but on the other hand I would not advocate “adolescent” violence against public property. This type of action might serve to produce the exact opposite of what was intended, i.e., increased surveillance. It doesn’t seem wise to me.

I watch Mythbusters, so enjoy a good explosion now and then. The video is funny. But destruction of property is not so funny. Anarchy isn't funny either...
