RED LIGHT CAMERAS GOING DOWN

Moreno Valley- High fines die not translate into revenue for the city.

The city council voted Tuesday to end Moreno Velley red-light camera program in the wake of complaints over costly fines for drirers and low revenue for the city.
The council voted 3 to 1 to notify Redflex Traffic
Systems to remove it equipment by Sunday from Fredrick Street at Centerpoint Drive and Perris and Alesandro boulevards. The council decided that the 18 month test program was a bust. Mayor Bonnie Flickinger said she was disappointed that it made only $48,000.00. Moreno Valley Police Chief John Anderson said he had to reassign officer from their regular duties for more than 1100 hours to enforce the program.

AND THEY SAYS IT IS ONLY FOR SAFETY REASONS NOT MONEY!!!!
