New Feature: My Favorite Files

When you're logged in at POI Factory, you'll now see "My Favorite Files" near the top right column.

The page lists POI files that you've downloaded in the past and makes it easier to find files that have been updated.

A file marked with "new" has been updated since the last time you downloaded it.

This would make the feature useful to me. Most of the entries I have listed are there becuase I opened them to help another user or to make sure my submission wasn't already there. But they are not necessarily files I care about loading or keeping track of for updates.

I was about to re-download some of my favorite POI's just so the favorites list would be able to track them, but much to my surprise it already knows them all. Very cool, nice feature, thanks for adding it!

As Miss POI stated in eariler post the favorite list is a history of everything you have downloaded on the site.

Agree.

Gary A wrote:

I certainly appreciate the effort put into the new feature, but to be truly useful for me, there needs to be a capability to selectively remove items from the list. I won't say for sure I never downloaded or opened all the files on my list ... but some of them I don't recall opening and have no interest in tracking them.

Remove Favorites / Exclude Maintainer's Files

"My Favorite Files" now has checkboxes and a button to remove items from your list. The list also automatically excludes files that you maintain.

JM

Way to go.

One question though. If I've deleted a file from the list but I download a new copy (or another) will it repopulate the list?

Could be handy if we suddenly take an interest in a particular POI because of travel requirements.

(I know, we'd complain about being given a pound of $20 bills when we wanted $50's.)
