Nah...

Another Area 51! wink

All kidding aside, why not look at Google Earth and see what you find where you live. Maybe the street name changed? Post what you find to let us know.

USPS not happy

The USPS web site has a ZIP code finder which doubles as a very useful address validator.

It does not this as a valid address. It does recognize ODD numbers in the 601 to 699 range and gives ZIP +4 of 91741-2450 for those.

No such address

Ok here you go. Look for an address on your Garmin called 8710 maple grove crescent, burnaby, bc, canada, v5a4g5. What you will get is 9200 maple grove crescent.
Now go to google and do the same thing and zoom in and you will see the block numbers. Google doesn't get it right either, but it will show that 9200 doesn't exist.
25+ plus years i have lived here.

I am sorry, My mistakes605

I am sorry, My mistakes

605 Park View Ter
Glendora, CA 91741 Not 606

you can check on www.usps.com

This address is available on usps except garmin, google masps, and other website maps.

606 Park view ter, Glendora, CA 91741

What is your property's AIN? If you are in Los Angeles County, look on your property tax bill for your AIN, then enter the AIN number at

http://maps.assessor.lacounty.gov/mapping/viewer.asp

You should be able to derive your address from that. I tried entering 606 Park view ter, Glendora, CA 91741 at the above website, but came up with nada.

Google satellite view shows a patch of dirt

Your Assessor's ID No. is 8635-027-026. Your Google maps coordinate is 34.138298,-117.875415. The Satellite view at Google shows a patch of dirt. Even the LA count assessment map at http://maps.assessor.lacounty.gov/mapping/viewer.asp does not show the street label Park View Ter for your 605 Park View Ter address.

Way cool!

Sorry, no Park View Ter came up as a street in Glendora. Go here https://mapreporter.navteq.com/dur-web-external/ and check Navteq to see if they know about it, else report it to add it.

I went to Navtaq's site and signed up. Now instead of complaining, I can help with the updates. Thanks for the info.

Is there no end of knowledge available on this forum?

If there is, I haven't seen it yet.

Never hear from Garmin either...

thanks for being on top of things. I will be doing the download this evening to my unit.

Thanks again!!

Just another GOOD reason to follow this forum!!

My first error turned out to be a turn restrictions

Thanks for posting this. I had a case today of stupid routing on my recently updated Nuvi. The source turned out to be that 2010.40 had a new error in the turn restrictions for an intersection I frequently use, not present on 2010.30. I reported it using your link--be interesting to see how long it takes to propagate to a Navteq fix, and from there to a Garmin release. My opening guess is nine months to get to my unit.

Is Garmin the only

Is Garmin the only seller of lifetime maps? Or can you buy the maps from a different store/company?

Gift card.

You can buy the Garmin nuMaps lifetime map subscription as a gift card from several sources. I got mine from Amazon (on sale for $80)

It's $94.94 (free shipping, no tax) today and still a great deal compared to the one-time map purchase:

Thanks for the heads up I

Thanks for the heads up I d/l the new updates and went very smooth. It would have been nice of Garmin to send an email saying an update for Lifetime Map is now available.. Think of those who do not read the forum messages or don't belong to POI-Factory, they have no way of getting their update unless they manually every so often check their my garmin account and even then sometime it does not say an update for your unit is available. That happen to me with the 2010.20 update..

Map errors

NavTeq screwed up on the I64 corridor in St. Louis.
I sent in a number of corrections on the ramps / routing etc. The road is again marked under construction until May?

Quote from an e-mail response via Garmin.
"2010.30 had a construction flag in it to make this avoided in routing. It expired on 1/1/10, though. So after that date 2010.30 would have started using that piece of I-64 just fine."
Second part
"Now for the fun part--for some reason NavTeq has the construction flag in the data for what became for us version 2010.40. So the unit is being told again this road section is un-usable. That restriction will expire on 4/1/10 and so then (after that) the unit will start using it once more.

I don't know where the disconnect happened between the versions, but it's frustrating. I'm sorry for it."

So Garmin is at the mercy of NavTeq on the mapping an if they screw it up - its screwed up for Garmin and therefore US TOO!!!

OOPS!!!

I64 Map Errors

I just received the same email for my error report. Definitely frustrating as I live smack dab in the middle of the affected area. Not the end of the world as I know my way around well enough to work around the problem but I hate to think what crazy routes out-of-town folks are being sent by their GPS confused

Does Garmin offer anything

Does Garmin offer anything resembling a changelog when releasing new map versions?

That would be nice

Djinn wrote:

but unfortunately they don't. You can though go here and see if there were changes done in a specific area your familiar with.

Map updates

This is the only place I here about updates.

Didn't work in Vista

Once downloaded, it didn't run. Tried once, waited over an hout, rebooted, tried again over an hour, nothing. So I set it to run in compatability mode for WinXP SP2 and then it worked fine. Just an FYI. My Vista is up to date and all...

I haven't got an email fro

I haven't got an email fro them yet either. It could also be because my ISP is complete shit. It's ridiculous how these big telecommunications companies won't go into more rural areas because they won't make enough money off of it. America's brand of capitalism has reached the point of ridiculousness - I live in Evergreen, CO, and the "high speed internet providers in my area" (look at the webpage and you'll see what I mean) is like the pirates of the carribean ride at disneyland. You wait for forever and then once you're finally on you get kicked off after about 5 minutes.

.

Please don't post profanities here. Thanks.
