are there a way to test a new poi on a garmin 760 with out going to the location just to make sure it works??? tks phillip

Use simulator mode

Browse to a point on the map and then select a Where To point that will take you past your POI. It should alert just as if you were actually driving by.

Google earth works well, too. The street views are very handy at times!

Simulation Mode

To activate Simulation Mode:
Select Tools>Settings>System>Turn Gps Simulator from Off to On. Then select View Map>Touch navigation map to get to road map>Pan and Zoom to location near alert site and touch screen>Select Set Location.
This moves your vehicle closer to alert to help speed up simulation. Then select Where to>Browse Map>select a point beyond your alert>Go>Do you want to Simulate...>Yes

That will make it 100 times easier to test a new POI... HAHA ive been waiting til i go past one to see if it works.
