No TourGuide Proximity Alerts on Nuvi 1490

Just discovered that my TourGuides do not fire the radius Proximity Alert MP3 on the Nuvi 1490.
I am using the 1490 side by side with my 780. Both running the same route, the 780 'fires' the alert at the exact point I have it set to go off. The 1490 is silent. The 1490 also doesn't show the alert preview button beside a POI within the TourGuide like it does on the 780. Both unit have the proximity alert setting set up the same.
I suspect this has something to do with the 1xxx models not supporting MP3 but was wondered if anyone else has noticed this and has found a solution/workaround.

Since the 1490 does not have an MP3 player, MP3 alerts won't work. Wave alerts should though.
Use sox.exe.

Got the answer
As usual there is always an answer on the internet. This time Gary Hayman's site saved the day again.
Since the 1xxx don't support MP3 you have to convert the TourGuide MP3 to a WAV file and insure Sox.exe is in the same folder as POIloader.exe.
