Speed Trap

Anyone travelling North OR South on I5 BE AWARE
WEED, CA. is a real speed trap location. First they lowered the speed limit in their area from 70 to 65mph & they enforce it.
Got me @ 74MPH & cost well over $100.00
If anyone knows how put it into a POI
Thanks

Was it automated, or did a cop get you there?
The poi files only have photo enforcement. Not speed traps.

FWIW I think speed traps per-se are illegal in California.

$100.00 is cheap for California, I didn't think they had anything under $350.

California fines.

I think you're nearly right. Some moving violations are in the $270 range.

California has penalty assessments and ridiculous court fees that make the fines pretty crazy.

I think that is at least $130, so the OP's statement about it being $100 doesn't seem to hold water.

Speed Trap POI

Send the coordinates/location to Ms. POI

Not a automated enforcement system.

If I understand the OP it was a speed trap, with a live cop to cite violators.

Nothing that could be put in any poi file, as far as I can tell.

Unless I misunderstood, that is.

Speed Traps

I believe there is a category named Speed Traps where police cars frequently are positioned to cite speeders. You do have to supply a set of coordinates for the site, if it is fixed in location. If you were caught by a traveling police car, that can't be coded as a POI.

P.S. Remind me nevere to visit CA

How about

A list of locations. (towns or cities) that are speed traps? New Llano LA and Florien LA both made national news as speed traps.

Very handy link, granted I always TRY not to speed, but I'm not perfect.
