Hi, I'm new to the forum, having just bought a Roadmate 1412. My map version is 31, and I understand that Magellan will update to the latest version within 30 days of purchase. Can anyone tell me what the latest map update is? The Magellan website doesn't seem to be of much help. They mention Spring 2009, but it doesn't say what version number that is.

I have another question, specifically about the Magellan 1412:
I created a new POI file last night using a .CSV file I downloaded from this site (it was a list of campgrounds). I used the Magellan POI import utility on the included CD. I transferred it to the GPS, and then selected it as a user POI file.
If I now search for POI's, are the regular POI's still included in that search, or just the new ones? The Magellan manual was a bit vague, and didn't really say.

I have not yet played with model 1412 (have one coming for my daughter), but on the 4250 the unit always searchs the base POIs in addition to the one file you can add. It will not allow multiple additional POI files to be active at the same time and you will need to combine any additional POIs into one file.

Update
I called Magellan customer service, and after much exchanging of information and registering, they are shipping me NavStreets ver.35, which was released in Spring 2009. It comes preinstalled on an SD card, ready to put into the unit. My cost is $10 for shipping and handling. I had to email them a scan of the retail receipt. Not a bad deal!
