Relands California pulls the plug on red light camera

The city sole red light camera has been turned off. The camera at the University street and citrus avenue was shut off by Redlands police chief Jim Bucerman, The city paid Redflex traffic system $6000.00 a month, Bueerman felt if didn't do enough for safety to justify the expense. He also stated it cost more to operate than it generated in revenue.

Thanks, I will get it

Thanks, I will get it removed if it is still in the file.

Good News

I think they should ban them everywhere. I am not the person who goes through red lights, but I am that person who is afraid of being rear ended.

I agree completely. Besides causing more accidents, they can be rigged to generate more revenue (ie. steal from motorists). They also are a problem because they target the car owner instead of the individual driver.

ditto!!!
