This isn't a coffee shop in the sense that you can walk out with a hot cup of joe but they roast the beans on the premises and sell some of the best coffee I have ever had in my life. A lot of places around Baltimore sell their coffee by the cup but I don't know any of them well enough to recommend them.

xsailor, try the poi's in alphabetical order. sundry (poi-factory user name) has a poi for CC's Community Coffee House. They are in south Louisiana and sooooo much better than Staryuck's. If a good coffee taste is what your looking for, try them if you are ever this way.

I am also confused as to the address. I am an Asst. Chief for the Fire Dept. here and our records show it as 108 N. Range Ave, 101 N. Range Ave., 180 N. Range Ave and last but not least 180 Railroad Ave. I guess it is a good thing we are a small town and I grew up here. I physically went by there and on their building they have 180, whether it is N. Range or Railroad, who knows. It faces Railroad and on the corner of N. Range. Whew!! a lot of explaining for a red-neck.

I sent Ms. POI my updated file of CC's on Sunday. It will have the coordinates for the Baton Rouge locations, since I live near by and know exactly where most of them are. She should be posting it soon. Thanks!

The street address is assigned according to the water meter connection. The address would be the street on which the water main servicing the building is located.

Now, having said that, in DC the City Council will provide a business with a "vanity" address. Here, in DC there are many examples. The building located on the NW corner of 11th St. and E St NW has a Pennsylvania Ave. address. and that building is the only one on that block to have the address. The rest have either an 11th or 12th st address or a D street number. If you use Google to look for an even numbered address on the 1300 block of PA Ave, you will note it is also on E St. This was to give the theater and hotels 'prestigious" PA Ave addresses even though they are across the plaza, Freedom Plaza where many protests are staged, from PA Ave.

Speedlever, I am not sure what happened to that 17,000 entry Coffee Shop POI file, I was not involved with it. Did you try to contact rlaughlin1?

No I didn't try to contact him. Last I saw, Miss POI was going to check the file some months back. That was the last post about it AFAIK.

BTW, how do you get the extra info to show formatted like you do in the coffee POI file? I tried to add my POIs to it, but it just goes into the cell normally and I couldn't figure out how to make it nice and pretty like yours.

I bet that big file was full of bad entries. 17,000 is just way to large to manage!!

I don't know if I really understand what you mean by the extra info. But... I do not actually make my POI files in Excel, so I don't use cells. I just use Notepad. Try opening the file in Notepad, or any text editor, and you will see the difference.

If that doesn't help, let me know, I'd be happy to try to help and figure it out!!

What I was referring to was that if you open up the file in Excel and click on an entry in column D, it came up just like you would expect the address to appear:
1234 anystreet
anytown, anystate, anyzip
any phone number

But if you enter the data in Excel in column D, it is all on one line:
1234 anystreet, anytown, anystate anyzip, any phone number.

When you create the file in notepad and then open it in Excel, it comes up all nicely formatted like the first example above. I didn't know that.
