You can provide feedback and suggestions for files in the LA project area by replying to this topic.
I found 13 existing files for the LA / So Cal area and linked them from the project page.
Can a new category be added to the LA Metro project? I would be interested in a Tourist Attraction category.
a tourist attractions file has been made. Let me know if you would like to be a maintainer of this file.
Is anyone interested in assisting with a "Celebrity and/or Movie Stars locations in Hollywood/LA? Or do you think this would not generate any interest?
I'm interested. Email firstname.lastname@example.org with requirements and I'll see how I can help.

Email on the way! My question to the group is how should I list locations that have multiple owners? Example: George Clooney is or once lived in Bing Crosby's old house. And Clooney also has or had the same address as Peter Frampton, Walt Disney, Peter Fonda, Shannen Doherty, Stewart Grainger, Cary Grant, Mark Harmon, Andy Williams, Henry Mancini and more. What is wrong with this house that everyone want out? There are many more like this. What are your thoughts????
Allow duplicate lon/lats and duplicate names (one celeb per record) but not both at the same time (a true duplicate).
I'll see if I can find another two cents in the couch....
Maybe George just....lol...Nevermind.
However, with GeePeeEx Editor you can have all that info and more show up..even a pic of the place if you had one.
There is a link to the program in the FAQ section under, "Useful software and & Web tools"
That sounds very interesting. Would you like to help our team once we have all the info compiled?
I just uploaded Los Angeles, CA: Ultimate Hollywood Tour - Beverly Hills area. Please let me hear your feedback.
Anyone think they could add in the Palms area? I really appreciate it.
Anyone think they could add in the Palms area?
I can't find it to download.
also, how about someone putting together a 'top fishing spots" in orange county/los angeles area? i.e. besides the obvious piers, what about small bays, jetties, etc. and whether or not a license is required for each spot.
Are you asking about my Ultimate Hwd Tour file?
My guess is that Miss Poi simply hasn't had the chance to post it. Could it be the weekend? She would have emailed me if there were a problem with the file, had she seen it, so I think that that is the most likely explaination.
On the fish question...I hope you're planning a companion Seafood Restaurants file for those dedicated to catch and release
If you're reading this, you must have some interest in LA's Top Attractions. I have volunteered to get the file launched, but I wanted to hear from you first.
What the %^&# is a Top Attraction?
Please answer this desperately beseeching enquiry by replying with at least a few things you think just have to be here.
Thanks a bunch...I appreciate all the help you can give.
all the area sports venues ... of course!

Seeking volunteers to help maintain this [Metro Area Project - Los Angeles, CA] page
What sort of effort do you anticipate? I think that, if I correctly understand the need, I can help....
You have access to the database, you just need to fill it with things that you would see as top attractions in your area:)
Yes...for LA Top Attractions. I was responding to the request for help with the LA Metro pg that I read here.
OK...The db has been filled with loads of attractions. What's the next step? Are you going to make it so others can use the info?
Also, can you consider reorganizing the LA Metro files? If we're not going to put all restaurants, for instance, in a single file (or db table) it make sense to me to group them all together on the LA Metro page.
Let me know how I can help.
Please see my post immediately above: my question hasn't changed...
I have been trying to contact you through email and your email no longer works.
I understand what happened now. I had the file unpublished for everyone else to see because I was getting emails about it being empty and forgot to republish it after I gave you access to it. If you would like me to I can publish that file and transfer the description that you provided for the file that is up in the LA Metro area and then remove that file so that if you have other additions to make you can just do it within the database.
Is this solution acceptable for you?
It seems iPowerWeb mucked up my MX record as part of a planned (?!) platform upgrade. Everything should now be back to "normal." [JM was first to note the problem: Thx for the heads up!]
I thought this was a group effort and that all of the LA Metro volunteers would have access to the db, with others having the advantage of downloading in their preferred format: A Top Pick. Is there a different plan?
Also, how can we bring more organization to the LA page? Others, Minn MN springs (lakes?) to mind, seem easier to navigate.
Also, expect a Celebrity Update soon. We're up to nearly 1200 in the greater LA area with some very current info. Are there any David Beckham fans with GPSr's?
I have it fixed now, so far you are the only volunteer that has stepped forward to maintain the file. We really appreciate the amount of time and effort that you put into your projects.
do you know how to MOOOOOO?
Changing topics - did we lose the LA Top Attractions text? What, was my description too too long? Verbose perhaps?
I have that transfered now, thanks for the update to the celeb file also;)

can anybody start a project on relight cameras in so cal?
So California red light cameras are included in the red light database here already;)
do you mean residences? Dont bother with those - odds are your information is inacuarate - face it - Angelina Jolie is not gonna let just anyone know her home address. Even if you had her home address, would you want to be responsible for providing it to a stalker with a fetish for nipple clamps and rubber gloves?
If you mean public places you're likely to meet celebrities - I guess go for it.
I have been searching for Ultimate Hollywood Tour but can't seem to find it can you post a link?
Any chance of a Los Angeles Area WIFI hotspot locations POI? I see one for Chicago, Northern Cali, and AZ, but not here...? I can help if need be.
I say go for it. Start Making one yourself.
If you want to include O.C. in it, I'll be glad to
get some for my local area and submit them to you.
Suggestions for places to start looking
I do happen to know of a few in my area that arent on either list.
I'm traveling to LA at the end of Nov and have created some POIs for the LA-area.
Coffee Bean & Tea Leafs
Jersey Mike's Subs
All related to food
Would that be of any interest for this project?
Here's some more LA POIs for the list
now that Bizzare foods one is a trip
never expected to see Chicken Testicles on a menu. Chicken FEET, thats a comon filipino food. Strange that mountain oysters isnt on the list:-)
