Garmin GPS & Digital Camera

Hello

Not sure where to Post this message at. I was Talking to a DHL Technician and he was telling me that he has a Garmin GPS that runs on batteries. He has it hooked up to his Nikon D200 with some cable.

He says when he takes a picture he is able to get the Lat & Lon of the picture he shot or something on those lines.

I have the Canon EOS 20D with all L Lenses (L=Professional Lenses). I was trying to figure out if there was a way to use my new Garmin 76CSx with this kind of set up. I called Garmin and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Has anyone heard anything about this. Since most of my Photography deals with places and locations this would be great.

Once I cean my room (ya right) I might find the name of the cable that the DHL person told me about.

Thanks

Michael

What about this one?

Does this software (JPhoto GeoTagger) fit the bill?.

It says it Writes latitude, longitude, altitude to the image's EXIF headers.

JPhoto GeoTagger

Just downloaded this java program and plan to give it a try. Seems straight-forward and would be really nice to have our digital photo's location stamped for future use and identification! Thanks for the link.

Other software

This (http://www.robogeo.com/home/) looks pretty comprehensive.

Tracks...

Don't you need to be able to record a track, to use this?

Of course, your Zumo can record tracks - but the Streetpilots and Nuvi's can't sad

Or have I (speed)read it all wrong?

Yeah, you would need to be able to capture tracks, so if your device can't do that, I'm afraid you are out of luck...
