Stop at least 3 seconds at the stop sign and stop at least 6 seconds against red light when making the right turn!!!!

Better read this message very carefully. This is for real.
Some of my friends got fined for around $500. There are a lot of cameras on the intersections ready to get you.
REMEMBER TO STOP AND TURN, NOT RUN INTO RED LIGHTS, WATCH OUT WHILE YOU DRIVE IN THOSE AREA MENTIONED BELOW.
Beware of the last 2 lines at the bottom.
This is a quite serious matter: local governments are robbing the drivers like crazy, you make a right turn at the intersection while the traffic light is red, you make the turn without a full and complete stop, you will be treated as “running the red light” - $480 fine. Now more cameras are installed at intersections, if the camera catches you, you will receive not just ticket, along with photos and a short video clip, you have no chance to deny it. Be very careful!!

Yellow to Red light

When does the trigger start for the camera to record the vehicle?

Is it when the front wheels cross the first white line AFTER the light turns red?

I'm worried about right turn cameras when light is yellow. Is it good to stop when the light is yellow assuming there is no car closely in the back?

of course

It's good to stop before turning right at any corner, regardless of the color of the light.

Were the secon form of cash back.. As a kid, every time I put a baseball through the living room window the guy at the glass store would give me a nickel!

Thanks....

This is useful information.

thanks

Thanks for the info

Basically it means

Your wheels must come to a FULL stop before making a turn at a stop sign or red light!

Yup, nothing new there

That is exactly what the law said 65 years ago when I was first getting a license, and it hasn't changed since then.

Stopping

At a red light (solid or flashing) or stop sign, motorists must make a complete stop prior to reaching a clearly marked stop line or entering the crosswalk on the near side of the intersection. And if there is no stop line or crosswalk, the driver needs to stop before entering the intersection itself. Motorists are allowed to make a right turn after making a complete stop at a red light, so long as there's no sign prohibiting it. Drivers must use caution and follow right-of-way rules when making a right on red. As mentioned above your wheels must come to a full stop before making at a stop sign or red light. Otherwise, you are doing a "rolling stop" and that is a traffic offense that can be tickted.

Stopping

The only problem is no one enforces the law anymore, as I see everyone around me turning without stopping first. (Even Cops)

If you see a STOP light and it's RED..

STOP before the STOP line. Problem solved. Yes we all have done it but if you don't come to a complete stop, don't stop before the stop line you risk getting a ticket. Stopping past the stop line can be the same as blowing the light. I am a lot more careful at intersections with RLC vs ones with no camera for that reason.

Very True

It's come to the point now where some drivers blow their horn when I come to a complete stop when making a right on red!

school bus shenanigans.

Believe me it's the exception, not the rule. But we live on a busy road and the school bus picking up my son is very annoying to people late for work. Every once in a while (about 1/5 times) someone accelerates through the yellows. Blowing the reds is rare.

Today, blaring horns. Saw a SUV make a left turn, cutting off the car in the direction he wanted to go, also cutting off a car coming in the direction opposite the way he wanted to go, all within a school zone.

Here's my point--30 seconds later, there was not a single car in either direction. To me, that would have been the time to make the left turn. Likely, he had been waiting for longer than he wanted to and was frustrated. OK, but again, it's the marginal wait < marginal benefit. The extra 30 seconds would have been more than consideration, one day could avoid a 3 way accident.

Time to have the police sit there and do some ticketing.

Stops

The only time people are law abiding is when there is a cop present. They need to have an unmarked car there with other cars ready to stop people like they do with some speed traps.

Necro thread.

It is interesting how a 13 year old thread like this that has been lying dormant for almost 7 years suddenly gets resurrected and becomes one of the more active current topics. I guess it demonstrates the historical value of forums. Long live POI Factory!

You'd might be surprised to see how many forums frown upon reviving a necro thread.

I was always of the thought it's better to add to an old thread than to have several on the subject so the info becomes scattered over different pages.
