.

Nope.

Try Live Maps

I was playing around with Live Maps and you can save push pins and export their locations as a GPX or other type file. You can also send directly to GPS although I have not tried that.

Oh, you can certainly do them one a time from a number of sources.

MapSource, MapQuest, Google Maps, Live Maps

Push Pins

I was able to export all of the push pins, in one operation, that I had on my map using Live Maps. I am working on a bike trail POI list and this will be perfect as most of the trail heads do not have a posted address. Sometimes we are lucky with a parking lot.

Right.

But the OP is asking if they can export POI built into the maps in MapSource a whole category at a time.

That is not currently possible.

Mapsource Ohhhhh

Again I read the original too fast and go off on my own tangent. I only missed one key word, MapSource. Next time I will slow down and read more carefully, lol.

It's all good. smile

We each learn something new every day, hopefully.

extract poi from mapsource

Here is how you can extract POI from MapSource (Garmin IMG map file) and convert to many POI formats:
1. Open IMG file in GPSMapEdit (http://www.geopainting.com/en/) and select POI objects, copy, close map, paste and save as Polish MP file
2. Install Global Mapper (http://www.globalmapper.com/) and register using user name: poi, registration key: 3066497448
3. Open MP file in Global Mapper and export vector data in any format you like.

?

That sounds like warez, and a crack... rolleyes

Does that include viruses, and trojans as an added feature?

Get the POI info out of MAPSOURCE

This may require a little work, but if you know the right order of things, you could do it. Save the MapSource .gdb file as a .txt (tab delimited) file. Open that with Excel or other Spreadsheet program, and put the list in the right order. (May require some editing). Then save that as a .csv file and the result is a custom POI file.
