What does that mean?!! - I think they're just trying to justify the upgrade, with some made-up functionality!!
Now maybe if they'd announced MP3 support for the C510, I might have been tempted
I did do the upgrade though (not using TTS). Although I didn't see (or understand) these changes, a lot of times small fixes are made in software releases that are not announced. It didn't make much sense, based on what they said they included, to make a new release so soon after the March 8 release.
On the other hand, after switching to 5.5, I was recently driving on a road and the map disapeared i.e the street I was on became blank. I changed the map to a higher level (MORE) and the road reappeared. Had not happened on that road before. Directions and the next major cross road did show on the map but otherwise I was on blank terrritory. Need to check if that was a one time incidenct.
In the past couple of days, I've had the experience where the unit seemed like it froze up being connected to the cigarette lighter. I am not sure if the connection got loose or what, but I think the next time it happens a call to Garmin will be in order.. Any comments!!!
I just updated my C330. It received some file to update audio on the unit with the following details:
