Good News!!!
The old problem of booting up a NUVI 8x5 in the Navigation Mode while using a non-Garmin USB Power supply, such as a Motorola cell phone usb supply, has been solved...............(workaround)
JUST POWER THE NUVI UP WITH AN NON-GARMIN WALL POWER SUPPLY AND WAIT LESS THAN 1.2 MINUTES.......
As you power up your Nuvi 8x5 with a non-Garmin power supply it will power up first in the MASS STORAGE in about 30 seconds, approximately 20 seconds later it will go out of the MASS STORAGE mode and start to boot up in the NAVIGATION mode.
It will fully boot up in the NAVIGATION mode in approximately 1 min 10 seconds after you first plug up the NUVI8x5
