Hi herb187ert9,

Do you have your .csv, .bmp and .mp3 files in the same folder? Did you name the files properly?

For instance...

MyPOI.csv
MyPOI.bmp
MyPOI.mp3

Just a thought...

Using WAV files requires SOX.exe be installed (loaded actually) into the same PROGRAM FILES, folder as POILoader.exe. See Gary Hayman's site for a link to Rapidshare where the file can be found.

Converted wav files that are now MP3's. Sox.exe is not necessary for the Nuvi 765T to play MP3's. Just maybe the "double extension" problem is the culprit. Also, does he/she have Proximity Points alerts checked off under: Tools>settings>Proximity Points>Proximity Alerts>Change with a green checkmark in the box?
Its worth a shot checking that.

I don't blame them for misunderstanding the post. It's hard to tell where the sentence ends and the next one begins.

Actually I wasn't blaming anyone Chewbacca

I was just pointing out some things that might resolve the problem the OP was having.

Wrong choice of word on my

Wrong choice of word on my part. Sorry. I was trying to say that OP's post is difficult to understand. It's very easy to misunderstand it if we don't read it carefully.

You did have a good point with that alert settings.

Hay, yes I do have them in

Hay, yes I do have them in the same folder I tested it today as I was rideing around only sound/voice that working was the speed camera and the redlight camera alerts and there icons, the other ones like walmart, bestbuy etc. I only heard the ding and words come on the screen no voice alert and no icons show up for them and the mp3 files, .csv files, and the .bmp files are in the same folder. When I got in I check to make sure. The icons for the speed camera and the redlight camera comes up thats the only things that working right. Let me asked you something do the files need to be in order; not just in the same folder are what, if not then what's going on with the other files.

The most common problem

The most common problem with alerts and icons not working is the double extension. The other reason is you didn't do a manual load so an alert distance or speed didn't get set.

For an alert to trigger, the POI must be within approximately 50-75 feet of your route of travel. If the POI for Wal-Mart is at the front door, then the alert will not sound until you are close to the front door. Driving by on the street will not trigger the alert because the POI isn't 50-75 feet from your route of travel.

The files can go in the folder in any order they are sorted and grouped by POILoader when they load. It's just easier to work with them if you have them together.

Turning up the volume

Thanks!! yall I got the other poi's to work. Is there a way I can make the voices louder and is there icons that can be put the map it self that stay on the map if so where do I get them from.

Turning up the volume

If you are using MP3 files, download MP3 Gain. Point it at your POI folder just like POILoader and let it set the gain on you MP3 files automatically. All the alerts will then be at the same maximum volume level. The default 85 dB works great, but you may want to reduce it if the voices are too loud.
