Unable to add to Favorites and POI don't seem to remove

Loved the idea of loading POIs and did so successfully but have now gotten message indicating I can no longer add a new Favorite. When I tried using POI Loader to remove all custom POIs it seemed to work properly but I still see all the custom POIs in with my Favorites.
Any ideas?
There is a limit
to the number of 'favorites' you can have installed on the Nuvi at one time. The limit is normally 1000.
You should however be able to load as many Custom POIs as there is available storage space for, either on the Nuvi's internal storage or on an installed SD card.
Not sure how you got POIs loaded as favorites but if you have you probably hit the 1000 limit. There are different ways to delete favorites but the sure fire way is using Tools - My Data - Delete Favorites. There you can delete all of them or any ones you want.
To load POIs you should use POIloader. The downloaded pois will then be on the Nuvi as Custom POIs and would be accessed under Where To - Extras - Custom POIs and not through Where To - Favorites.
If your not using a Nuvi then these limits and file locations maybe different. I only have experience with the Nuvi.
Nuvi 350, 760, 1695LM, 3790LMT, 2460LMT, 3597LMTHD, DriveLuxe 50LMTHD, DriveSmart 61, Garmin Drive 52, Garmin Backup Camera 40 and TomTom XXL540s.

Not sure what you done but sounds like you ran a direct load to your favorites.Don't believe on the 550 you can do a bulk delete of favorites.Only one at a time using edit.What you can do is turn gps off and hold your finger on bottom right of gps screen while you turn on the gps.Hold finger until you get pop up to delete all user data and touch yes.Your custom pois should be found under where to,extras and touch custom pois last.
Note.You will lose all the favorites.

It sounds like (at some point) you have copied a GPX file (or files) directly to the device (or the SD card) and imported them to the unit (which sends them to the Favorites) rather than as Custom POIs.
You need to remove those GPX files and then you will have to follow the steps suggested above to remove the Favorites.
