I just got my GPS last Friday. Never had 1 before - its pretty cool. Glad to see all these nice POI files available. I've installed 4 or 5 of them already.

Enough people here are fed up with the red light cameras, and someone got a petition of registered voters together. Once he confirms all the signatures as registered voters, he will turn it in, and we will finally get to vote on the issue in Nov.

Our city hurriedly did a 20 year extension of the contract to get around a new state law. So, I hope the vote goes the right way!

Do you think when and if it goes to a vote that it will be approved to keep the RCL.

If the vote keeps the cameras - I will disagree with it to the highest regard... But, I will respect it.

I REALLY hope the vote gets rid of them. Despite the 20 year contract they slipped thru a few weeks ago - it can be cancelled anytime by the city. So, if the vote goes the right way - it should get rid of the cameras.

I am curious how the senior citizen vote on these will go - as it can sway the election. The seniors here got a property tax freeze, so now they vote FOR all these bond elections, because it doesn't cost them a nickel more...

My father is against the, my mother is not... The senior vote could really effect the outcome....

New here too! I haven't tried the POI stuff yet but, I live in Los Angeles where new speed cams come up frequently. I will check and compare as soon as my install is done. Hope to be able to add some new ones!

As for speed cameras. Once they ease in red light cameras and get a taste of the easy revnue from them, there is no backing out and then they will slip in the Speedcameras for more.
