Anyone have a fool proof way of getting rid of ground moles? Besides sitting in the backyard with a shotgun waiting for the ground to move!

Only sure fire way i've ever seen was the Norwegian Elk Hound/German Sheppard mix we had when I was a kid. Amazing dog all around, but loved to hunt moles. her first summer after we adopted her, by the end of june, they were gone. period.

Get rid of grubs first

The moles seem to feast on grubs...if you get rid of grubs..you get rid of Moles.

Now I know why my wife encouraged me to retire.

I've been retired since May 31st and have so far mowed the lawn several times, finished hauling and spreading several loads of mulch in our flower beds and around some trees (project started in April) replaced the screen in our porch door, painted the beams of our screened back porch, build a picket fence around our trash barrel storage area, replaced the drier vent, planted a small garden, made and installed new wood shelves and a handle for our barbecue grill, washed our cars a few times, had some warranty work done to our Lexus, taken lots of walks with my wife, actually used some of the exercise equipment in our basement room, joined Facebook, joined a military alumni organization, kept track of the news, and probably forgot to list everything here. I need a vacation! So I think we will pack our Garmin and fly off to some exotic place like Hawaii for a couple weeks! Life is good!

Contract in Temps

Today it will be 109 in the Palm Springs while the temps at Ventura will be 73. Guess where we will be going this summer?

Hot!

North central Texas is hot (above 1100 degrees every day last week) and dry. Less than 1/2 inch rain in the past 4 weeks!

That IS hot!!!

That US Airways flight incident was all over the Tampa news last night, no mention of Billy Mays, though. I knew he lived here, but holy cow, what a week for deaths in the news. crying
