Lost turn by turn voice announcing street etc.

Just bought a nuvi 260W and after registering with garmin was able to download a free maps update. Now my unit does not give me a VOICE turn by turn notice of the next street or avenue only the distance to the next turn right or left!! Anyone have answers to this problem??

If you do a search of this site you will see that it is very common for an update of maps or s/w to result in a change of voices. If you go back in in change to a voice designated by "TTS", your text-to-speech street names will return.
Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

To free up space for POI or other items on your unit you can delete the unused voices and text files. They can be recovered by running Web Updater.
