Help with CD

That CD will have the POI editor on it. You will need that to add more POI files to it's (meager) database. Things like the red light cameras, state parks, etc.

Thanks for the reply i will contect them and see what they can do for me.

Thanks but I need more help

There is nothing much they can help with so here i am .
I think i do not need any thing more then Poi Editor. I got that from a link given by one of the post here. Now I have another problem.

I downloaded poi file from here , Followed all instructions and open it in editor, Edited as I was told then clicked on green Arrow to send it to my gps which it did.
I can open a folder where I can see files i have send to my gps. ( all are stored in a folder USER\CPOI.
Now I have tried all means what ever i can understand but I could not make it work.

I have six files there ...Red light camera, Speed Camera, Tim Horton’s...etc
City where i am there are lots of camera installed.

How can i make it work.???
All kind of help is highly appreciated.

If any one with this unit has used persnol poi files on your unit please give me little helping hend.

After loading POI to my gps i can see it there but it does not give me wornings.

Alert

Alert isn't on by default, you have to activate it. For me the easiest way is using POI File Editor. When you open your custom made POI file (MGLN extension) with your POI File Editor right click on the name of your category on the left side of the window. Select "Modify" and then in the next window you have option to: give a name to your category, pick up one of the preloaded icons, set distance, angle and a tone for your alert, and you have option to activate your alert. Once you load your file to your GPS go to POI/My POI or in some models they are called Enhanced POI, and select your file.

Magellan's limitations:
POI file can't have more than 10,000 entries.
POI file can't have more than 10 categories.
You can't use custom tones or custom icons.
You can't have active more than 1 custom POI file at the same time. This means that you can load as many as you want into your GPS, but you can't have more than one active. If you need more than one you have to switch between them or make a big POI file with more than one category. For example 1st category: Red Cameras, 2nd category: Speed Cameras, 3rd category: Rest Areas, and so on. Pay attention to 10,000 entries and 10 categories limitation.
Your custom POI entries don't show in general POI search neither under the name nor distance. You have to go to POI/My POI/Select Category and after that you have option to search either by name or distance.

My GPS model is MM3200, but I believe procedure is very similar for the rest of Maestro line except MM4350 & MM4370.

POI Files on SD card

I have a file titled "POI Files" on my computer where I first load all new POIs created with the editor- I then transfer them from my computer to the SD card- this works for me.

It is also less risky to load items on the SD card and not the gps itself.
