Help with Entering Hotel Address

I have Garmin 255W with the 2010 map installed. I am trying to enter a hotel address into my GPS. I have tried every conceivable approach with no success. For example I tried entering the city name and my GPS did not find any city in Utah named Bryce Canyon. The address I am trying to enter is:

Best Western Rubys Inn
1000 S. Hwy 63
Bryce Canyon, UT 84764 USA

Anyone who knows the trick on how to enter this address is appreciated.

I tried this - Where

I tried this - Where to>Address>Change State/Country>Utah>Search all (on select city page)>1000>hwy 63. GPSr finds:
1000 hwy 63
antimony, utah 84712
united states

I googled your address and it looks like the same location. I don't know why GPSr has different address (city and zip).

Hope this helps.

Try Antimony, UT

I wasn't able to enter the address on my 755T with 2010 maps either. But I was able to find it as a POI. I started by selecting a different city. Bryce wasn't listed, so I picked Tropic, then searched POI's for lodging. I found your Best Western Rubys Inn, but it is listed with an address of Antimony, UT

edit: @jthawkin Looks like we were taking the same approach at the same time. grin

I didn't get it to pull up

I didn't get it to pull up but if you are trying to save as a favorite go to http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=37.0625,-95.677068&spn=57... and use send to gps. If looking for the coordinates just sign in to Google maps and use position finder or go to Google Earth.

The town nearest Bryce NP is Tropic. With the 2010 map and selecting "Near... Tropic" then "Lodging," a nuvi will list Best Western-Ruby's Inn as 1000 Hwy 63. Ah, the full POI for it is 1000 Hwy 63, Antimony, UT 84712 435-834-5341.

It can be found with a nuvi using Tropic as the city, then selecting Lodging (or Food). I'm not sure about trying to find it by manually entering the address.

Odd, Ruby's mailing address must be served by Antimony's post office, yet nuvis can find it much easier by starting with the much closer town, Tropic.

By the way, I've stayed at Ruby's. Rooms are nice and the restaurant has sort of a "vacation/truck stop" gift shop and restaurant feel to it. It's very convenient to Bryce itself. After a day's hiking around Bryce's trails, treat yourself to a meal at the lodge inside the park before returning to Ruby's.

search for - Ruby's Inn

Do a spell search for

Ruby's Inn
and it will show up as....
Ruby's Inn Restaurant & Steak house
It is also reported as....
Best Western-Ruby's Inn

The full GPS info from the 2010.1 maps is...

Best Western-Ruby's Inn
1000 Hwy 63
Antimony, UT 84712
435-834-5341

One final tip

Remember that Bryce and Ruby's are at 8000' elevation so bring a jacket or something if it's sorta cool at night. And if you're from sea level-ish, don't try to do too much and drink a lot of water.

Postal Address

FWIW: I find this situation a lot - It turns out that the Garmin DB uses the postal address for their internal POI locations. Some smaller communities that do not have their own post office will use that of a neighboring community that does.
