Using POI files with Mapsource

I recently upgraded to NuMaps Onetime North America City Navigator 2010. I have a Streetpilot 2720, and using Vista 64 bit. I downloaded the Passport.CSV file. Then I used the POI loader to convert it to Mapsource. It tells me the file has been converted, but I can't find it. Has anyone had any success converting these files with the new versions of Mapsource? It will download a portion to my unit, but not the complete file.

IN poi loader, the advanced

IN poi loader, the advanced feature Save to Mapsource does not do anything / is not usable. POI Loader creates a gpi file which Mapsource does not accept.

If you have csv file, you will have to convert to gpx to use in Mapsource. You can open or drag and drop gpx file in Mapsource to edit. You can then save (you have to select gpx extension).

This has been discussed in previous threads. May want to try search.

Hope this helps.

POI Loader Save to MapSource Does something useful

POI Loader Save to MapSource Does something useful. It makes named gpi files in C:\Documents and Settings\[UserID]\Application Data\GARMIN\CustomPOIs

These gpi files can be moved directly to GPS:\Garmin\POI

They can also be copied to an SD card and imported. I carry my H-D POIs as a gpi file on an SD card, H-D Dealers.gpi so twhen I run into a Harley rider that wants to use them, they can be inported to their GPS without destroying their POI.gpi file, thus not deleting all other POIs they may have.

Here's another option. If

Here's another option. If you want to save gpi file to pc, try Save to Custom Folder option in POI Loader. You can place it when you want instead of it being so imbedded and hard to find.
