I am still using Internet explorer7. I have not heard any bad news on the new Internet explorer8. Is it working good for those of you who installed it?

Last time was in BETA....
Last time I used IE8 was when it was in the BETA stage. It seemed to be alot like IE7 in most ways, except that it totally slowed down the web experience. Been reluctant to try it again after I uninstalled it at that time....Still on IE7, never have had a problem with IE7.
I have also tried using Firefox, but that doesnt work with the site that my workshop uses that requires a certificate that is incompatable with FF. Instead of the hassle of using 2 browsers, I have stuck with IE7.
I have also had many more crashes using FF than IE7, it's not worth it, except that FF takes you back to the site you were on before crashing and burning....
IE8
IE8 works fine for me under Windows XP pro.
I like the new favorites bar feature
I think I will install IE8
I think I will install IE8 to see how well it works from IE7.
Once you have IE8 installed, can you uninstall it or revert back to IE7 ? I saw another post from this thread that someone did it, but I thought that once you install IE8, you can not uninstall it.
Thank you in advance

Yes. I did it.
Firefox
At work I run kubuntu and use Firefox as my browser. That said, I still prefer IE. Call me a masochist if you must.
Sorry to "disappoint" you

Masochist? because you run FF at work and prefer IE?
No, you are NOT
IE8
I am in IT and we always suggest using the latest version... We primarily use Firefox because of the security issues but also because of the add-ons... but with IE we always suggest the latest version as they tend to have more fixes and better security.
IE7 was a jumbled load of junk until they released several updates but IE8 has worked very well with no problems.
Don't want to make waves, but I am in IT as well. Have been for 40 years. I have worked for many large companies and currently today I work for one of the largest IT shops in the country. We never recommend going with the latest version of anything. We will wait for at least a year. I have never worked for a IT shop that recommends going to the latest version. They have all waiting till the dust settles in so to speak. I personally would wait for a while. I am staying with IE7 for my home PC which seems to work just fine.

IE 8
I installed it and tried to use it a couple of times. It loaded fine and was able to get to my emails, but when trying to do some online payments at several different places, it crashed when I tried entering my username and password. I restored my system to IE7 and everything worked fine. I think I'll hold off before trying to install it again, for awhile. I'm going to talk about it to our IT guy when he comes in tomorrow.
