Tourguide sounds problem - sound loop

my Nuvi 760 has a tourguide sound loop.
if one alert is triggert, than it plays the sound once.
if a second location is nearby ( while the first existing alert is still within range and showing on the screen) and its sound alert is triggert, then the first and second and first alert plays again and again several times. like one triggers the other, until i am out of the range of one of them.
i noticed that for my Costco / Sam's club gas stations which i like to use when on a trip.
anyone have a solution to that ?
my costco tourguide is set to 8500ft
my sams club tourguide is set to 7500ft

750

I have the 750 and when I have my alerts too close together my routes go in a loop. I turned off my alerts and this stopped the loop.

It looks like if you make sure your alerts are not too close together it will stop this. Maybe you can change the alerts to sound closer to the item so they won't overlap. Or zoom in closer to the one you are at so the next one doesn't show on the screen. Don't know if this will help but worth a try.

I just turned my alerts off, whished I could find a good way to have them work without my car looping.
(This only happens when I use simulation) Haven't tried it yet when driving.

There are a lot of smart people on this site. Hopefully one of them can help us.

I'm just curious as to why you have an alert set for these as you travel. I only need to pull in for gas every 300 miles or so and traveling near many areas would trigger alerts when I didn't need to stop for fuel. When I notice I'm getting low, I could then look for fuel stops along the route which would have Sam's and Costco included. With the distances you have, 1 3/4 miles and 1 1/2 miles would cause my system to alert me about 15 times before I got more than 50 miles from my home.

ɐ‾nsǝɹ Just one click away from the end of the Internet

when I got my first GPS last November...

...and read here about all of the cool custom alerts that I could create, I went crazy setting alerts.

it was fun for about 2 days

then I slowly read the posts here, and discovered that the real value of the custom POI's that people share, is to bring them up along your journey when you need something, like fuel as mentioned above...or fast food etc.

and your nuvi will show you the next closest and in what direction.

I still use sound alerts for a few POI's, such as the excellent Rest Areas one, and I set them for 2 miles out.

alert set for these as you travel

when driving through wide open country with few cities between it really only sounds 2 to 3 times
(try the ride from Atlanta Ga to Destin Fl) there really is nothing there with exceptions of 2 towns, while the rest is farmlands

This past weekend I experience same thing on nuvi 350, only got first alert message until out of range, first alert sound repeated constantly. Only did this because two poi's where near. CSV file was off beat tourist attractions set 10,000 ft.

Low tech

I select Volume>Mute until I'm out of range.

Works for me.
