This should be our first 100 degree day for the year - 93 days over 100 to go!

I'd be happy with anyone's rain or snow. We still need the water and - did I say and? - I could use some cooler weather.

This week

So my sister and her husband are on vacation. So I get to live at their house and take care of Toby, an american bulldog. It's kinda fun! Plus I get some time to do some schoolwork(hopefully finish it this week).

Speaking of schoolwork, can anyone tell me any viable point for english class to be wasting the students' time evaluating books beyond what they where meant to be evaluated. I also think that they are getting way to picky about some things. We have to turn in specific amounts of research notes, and I have gotten lower grades for not having my notes organized the proper way. We also have strict recquirements on our citations and references. I kinda think that if a kid writes a good final report his process to get there doesn't matter(except if the student is plagerizing)

some of the user demographics of POI Factory

Ran across this demographics web site the other day and thought it was kind of interesting looking at some of the demographics of POI Factory users. I do not know where they get their numbers and stats from.

I haven't used IE in years now! In the past it's always been to much of a security risk.

Let us know how it works out, Always will to give it another try, if they have closed up some of the gaping holes.

So far looking good with Internet Explorer 8.It does seem to be faster. One of the biggest changes I have seen so far is faster web page loading.I have the Blockbuster movie rental and hated when I had to go to the queue page to add movies. It was so slow with IE 7.That problem is now gone with the IE 8.

I did give it a try for a while and it also seem to be faster.Ran into a few problems on some web pages. No big problems to speak of.Never gave me the same feel as Internet Explorer for doing everything I wanted to.Even with the add ons.Been using computers a long time and I have good antivirus, spyware, firewall programs and I also keep it updated with latest security downloads.Have not experienced any problems using IE except when I tried the Beta IE8.McAfee and it didn't want to work together.Found out to late McAfee doesn't put fixes out for Beta.So that was my fault for not knowing.

Your inquiry:
Can you please tell me how you guys get the demographic data for a site like POI-Factory.com and how accurate is it?
Thanks

Hi Bob -- The initial profile is an "estimate". It is generated the same way Neilsen or ComScore generate audience profiles -- through a panel. That said, our Quantified Publisher Methodology is more accurate. Disney, FOX, CBS, NBC, ABC and 95,000 other publishers rely on us for the best data. If you want to read more about us, you can read it here: http://www.quantcast.com/docs/display/info/Methodology Thanks for contacting us.

Prime Example of why GM Fails

Today I priced driver and passenger side mirrors for my Tahoe. These mirrors are heated with remote adjustment. The price for the driver's side was $550 and the price for the passenger side was $480. An aftermarket mirror with the same specs that looks the same as the GM mirror (except for the GM Delco box) is $104.90 for both sides.

Actually these mirrors snap into the assembly, so really there is not reason to replace the whole assembly. The snap in mirror to go into the assembly is $25 for a standard remote mirror and $74 for a heated remote mirror.

This is a prime example of waste (selling the whole assembly instead of the snap in mirror) and price gouging (see the difference in prices listed above). No wonder GM fails!!!

Snow Almost Melted

We had about a foot of snow on the 21st and yesterday was in the 60's with some strong t-storms, but cold again today. There's still a lot of patchy snowcover around, but it is melting fast.

I'm looking forward to a nice spring finally, and even though we average a few inches in May am hoping it will stay warm and we won't see snow again until at least October.

I've still been very busy and having to travel around the area. The GPS has come in very handy for finding locations, but has also given me some bad advice. Will be posting more soon when I can catch up with everything.
