removing dash disk

anyone had any expierence with removing a dash disk, any tips ?

tip ....

- thin wire or fishing line - slide under adhesive to remove disk.

- De-Solv-It to remove any adhesive residue

.

Limit the time and amount of solvents you use on a vinyl dash. They can remove plasticizers in the vinyl and cause the dash to crack at some time in the future -- even the adhesive can cause plasticizer migration into the adhesive.

Nuvi 660 -- and not upgrading it or maps until Garmin fixes long-standing bugs/problems, and get maps to where they are much more current, AND corrected on a more timely basis when advised of mistakes.

.

Yes, thin fishing line will work well.... . Also, it won't hurt to warm the disk a bit with a hair dryer to soften the adhesive....

I

Great ideas , thanks

Another Solution

Dental Floss!

Fred

dental floss, goo gone

dental floss to start the job (be careful of your fingers!) then goo gone to remove the residue. Then go over your interior with a finishing dressing -- check with local car shops or car clubs for what folks like to use on your model car.

I just had "why didn't I think of that" moment. Some of us don't fish or play a guitar but I'm sure we all have teeth to floss razz

Unless you're really old and keep your teeth in a glass at night...by then, you're way beyond floss mrgreen
