I downloaded Red Light & Speed Cameras POIs to my computer but when I try to load them to my device or the SD card, the POI loader can't locate them or I can't see them when I use the browse function.

If you are using poiloader to download the files from your computer to the gps unit. When you get to browse you will have to scroll down and find the location that you put the files at.Did you put them under my documents by chance?

Did you get a message from

Did you get a message from POI Loader saying that you have successfully loaded xxx number of POIs?

If so, they should be in Where to>Extras>Custom POIs.

If not, make sure that you point POI Loader to the path / folder where you saved your POI file (select Browse to change path).

Let us know if this works.

You have to save them to a

You have to save them to a specific location and browse to that specific location. Try saving them on the desktop, it's the easiest place to work with.

FOLDER

You are trying to point to the files. POI Loader wants you to point to the FOLDER.

Did you unzip them first?

Did you unzip them first? The two files are combined in a single zip download file.

Check the zip file

I agree with stxusvi. Maybe the file wasn't unzipped, or it was unzipped but placed somewhere you didn't expect. Try searching by file name.

do a search

search the computer for all the recent files added in on the day you downloaded them. if you can remember the date, do it for several days.

you might create a directory and always save your downloads in it.

good luck

custom pois

stxusvi. Not sure you still need help. This is a simple way to do your custom pois.

1.Make a folder on your computer and give it a name. Example My poi's.
2.Download the csv or gpx file and put them in that folder.
3.If you want to add a bmp or mp3. Download from site and also add to the same folder but make sure you name them the same as the file you want them to go with except the extensions.

>My pois=Main Folder
>>Dunkin Donuts.csv
>>Dunkin Donuts.mp3
>>Dunkin Donuts.bmp
>>Walmart.csv
>>Walmart.bmp
>>Walmart.mp3

4.Run poiloader and select the My pois folder.
5.If you want alerts use manual mode instead of express.
6.You should get message so many pois are loaded at the end of the download.
7.On GPS go to where to then extras and touch custom pois and you should see them.
8.Every time you run poiloader it will overwrite the existing files.

Note for redlight and speed cameras you don't need to use manual mode for poiloader to get alerts. It will be automatic.

See

See http://www.poi-factory.com/node/85 for poiloader.Once you download it go to the help section on it and you will find lots of information. It you do a search on site you will find some info on Mapsource. You may want to post what you want to do with Mapsource so some users with experience can give you some more direct information.
