Too many threads - not that I'm complaining

There are so many threads that I can't find them again after I post a comment. It would be nice to find them so I can see if someone responded to my comment and/or question. I've tried searching by my own name but that doesn't seem to work. Miss POI, any ideas? (if you even read these).

To find a topic that you've posted to, all you have to do is when you log in, click on "Recent posts," then click on the "my recent posts" tab at the top of the new page and you'll find all of the topics you've posted in.

3rd Post week, almost an active user....

TGIF

Have a splendid weekend, everyone!

It's.......

FRIDAY!!!!!

Where Has the Week Gone?

Forget that; I want to know where the first three months of the year have gone! surprised

Time is slipping away.

G2A,
Your avatar reminded me to stop at the Lego Store on the way home tonight to check on a couple of things. The store in Chicago didn't impress me that much, (in my opinion - not a lot of selection, but they had a lot of a few things,) and the "Pick a Brick Wall" wasn't that big.

The store at the Shops of Woodfield is even smaller, and when I was there with one of the youngin's, it didn't even jump out at me.

So - now it's going to be the store at Northbrook Court. sad

Worst case, we (my wife wink ) order the wanted parts on-line.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled forum - already in progress . . .

Shouldn't weather talk be in keeping the windmill alive forum? I mean thats what it actually is, if you have to make a weather post, just to keep your windmill spinning then put it where it belongs, hell I even fell pray to this ploy and realistically no one really cares about the weather other than where they are. and yes the sun is out here in Cleveland and it seasonably warm, but do the people that live on the banks of the red river find that a little irritating, I know I do when it's 10 degrees out and someone is taunting everyone else with how warm it is in Florida. Again, if you need to post because you really have nothing to say, post it in keeping my windmill alive, I for one never read that thread because it's just bla bla bla..

Hey Man; I have been waiting all day for your Cleveland weather report, but."seasonably warm" doesn't really cut it. Be more specific.
It's 73 degrees right now in Gulfport, Florida.

All I know is there's a blizzard warning starting at 7PM tonight for 24 hours. Be a fun commute Monday AM.

Still Been Busy

Hey, everyone.

Still been busy with work and other things. Looks like things are going to start winding down soon, and I can contribute more to the site.

The snow is melting anyway.

Where has Miss POI been this last few days?

Well the Melby family has been in Portland Oregon since late Thursday night. We left Boise around 5:00pm and arrived in Portland around midnight. We have had a great weekend visiting family and we will be hitting the road tomorrow morning for a long 8 hour drive home.

So if you submitted files or emails since Thursday, I will be getting back to work late tomorrow.

Climate change

FTdad wrote:

We've got to stop calling it "global warming" since a lot of people in the north think that would be a good thing. The proper terminology is "climate change" which causes all sorts of weather hardships in unexpected places---extreme warm or cold, floods, droughts, more severe tornadoes and hurricanes. In other words, the kinds of weather that much of the country has been experiencing in the past few years. It's a particular hardship on farmers and wildlife and no picnic for the rest of us.

Weather reports

BobDee wrote:

Shouldn't weather talk be in keeping the windmill alive forum?

The "keeping the windmill alive" thread is also subtitled "where was your last trip". Not exactly weather related.

I always felt the Chit Chat thread was like the water cooler, and that's the de facto place on Mondays to debrief on the weather from the past weekend.

Besides, where else would we display our meteoroligical savyness? smile

Simon

Top 5 Finish!

Way to go, Tony! Fourth place finish at Texas. Moved up 2 spots in the points standings, to 5th!

A place of your own

It costs money for every byte transfered by a server, and then there is, who cares about the weather where you are besides for you. If you can't think of anything constructive to say other then it's a sunny day in Florida (Duh, I would hope 98 percent are)then look for something where you can be constructive there are many more forums to read and reply to. If the weather is unusual like flooding, tornadoes, hurricanes then by all means talk about it.
But come on, be creative and show you have some talent of some sort rather then saying the weather is clear and dry?? No one cares.

And if you have to make a weather statement because you can't think of anything else to say, use the meteoroligical savyness fourum off open talk.

Yep - it's sunny

Yep - it's sunny here in Flor-i-duh (where I am) and time to say to Gary that ADD 10 to Tony's car and get the winner of the Texas Race who is the points leader by a big margin. (Teasing Gary)

Oh, am I being politically incorrect in saying it's sunny ?

Chit chat

Weather talk perfectly fits the definition of "chit-chat"

Quote:

http://www.thefreedictionary.com/chitchat

Chit-Chat: (Noun) light informal conversation for social occasions;
Chit-Chat: (Verb) talk socially without exchanging too much information;

POI-factory is interesting to read because, contrary to other forums I've read and as a self moderated forum, the social exchanges are kept to a minimum and almost exclusively in the weekly chit-chat thread. I always thougth that this thread should not be read religiously and was just to keep in touch with everyone else on the board.

If we start creating separate threads for weather talk then we will need to create one for sport talks (I don't care about that), one for "retired and loving It" posts (I still have 20 years to go), etc.

Miss-POI says it all in the first post:

Quote:

This is the place to talk about things that are not gps related.

Have fun...

Let's have fun between friends here and stop calling names.
