Well, I haven't been there to see it with my own eyes...'course, I didn't see the lunar lander with my own eyes, either. All done on a sound-stage, some say.....

They had a segment on it either on the Discover or History channel a year or so ago. Man Made Marvels, or How It Works, they all blur together after awhile. They were on a passenger ferry and when they got here, the ferry went into the "trough" and was carried up to the upper level and then went on its way.

If that was closer to the water, and not half in the parking lot....its the perfect color for a sand sculpture :_)

Zoom out and then try to figure where all the stone came from, in the 1700's.

Actually, I worked, at that time, for the Hawaiian Army Air Force Exchange System. Better known then as HAAFES.

Probably could have made some good bucks, but it was way too remote for me. Would of had to work there for a year minimum, and at the age of 21, it was not too appealing. Oahu was bad enough with only 117 miles of shoreline. At least I had a friend that was accruing solo hours for an Instructors license, so I did get to some of the other islands.

Right now, it's a nice place for a hermit.

That is a great video of the amusement park. It just goes to show Hollywood doesn't have an exclusive lock on quality film making any more, and it drives home the point of how cheaper technology empowers the common man.
