Nuvi 750 Cradle mount - Is the 2.5mm plug an active stereo output or...?

Just a quick question for those who know, since the manual doesn't state anything about it; Is the 2.5mm plug on the side of the Nuvi Cradle an active stereo line output, or is it meant for something else? I'd rather not go sticking a stereo plug into it to hook up to the Aux input of my car stereo, only to see and smell the familiar magic blue smoke coming from the cradle (or the Nuvi) shortly afterward.

Audio Out

The audio out jack is on the left side of the 750, just above the SD card slot. Quick Start Guide page 2.

Cradle mount - Is the 2.5mm plug an active stereo output?

The connection on the side of the cradle is for a external microphone or headset. It is for input only and no output of any kind.

See this review (750 & 760 cradle are the same) and read the comments under Figure 9:

Thanks. I had actually seen

Thanks. I had actually seen that review once before, but completely forgot about that section. I had a feeling it was for a mic in, but just wanted to be sure. And yes, I do know about the regular 3.5mm output on the unit itself, but I wanted to make a semi permanent mount for my vehicle, hence the question about the 2.5mm plug. Would have made things much simpler if I didn't need to plug anything into the unit itself.

well said CraigW:))

You're welcome wink
The one big problem with the message board here is that it is possible to go back and edit a message. But it's not possible to delete a message. So in the rare cases where I prefer to remove what I've posted earlier, all I can do is remove all the text, leaving a reposted blank message.

If I'm missing a way to delete a post I created, please let me know.

I hope I won't want to delete this post....
