GARMIN 855

Anyone tried the garmin 855? what were your impressions of it compred to the 7x0 or the 7x5 series?

Roland

tough choices, huh?

Garmin's gonna have all new models out by time you decide! laugh out loud wink

The 855 is very similar to the 7x5, but it adds voice recognition ... you can speak your commands instead of using the touch screen. For as little as you travel (per your previous posts), it's probably not worth the extras presidents!

Costco will have it for $299

Costco will have it for $499-%200IS=$299 in May.

Can you Wait?

Wait a year and you can get it for less then $200. Wait two years and they will pay you to take it off their hands.

Anyonw with an 855

I was looking at the update for the 855 posted in late March. Update 4.40 states:

Changes made from version 4.30 to 4.40:

* Note: Due to new POIs in recent maps, this update enables display of POIs on the map. If you would like to disable them, touch 'Tools -> Settings -> Map -> Down Arrow -> Enabled (adjacent to Show POIs) -> Hide All'.

When you hide all, does that include custom POIs as well or only the built-in ones? I may order one from Costco and wanted some feedback. Thanks.
