Red Lights BANNED in Mississippi

Of note is: "Mississippi joins at least eight other states in banning the automated technology, including neighboring Arkansas. Six other states are debating using cameras,..."

I May Have To Move from MD to MS

These cameras are killing me in MD. More to the point, my wife is subsidizing the state with at least two infractions per month and she has a Nuvi 360 with all appropriate red light and speed camera warnings. Either I need a new Nuvi or a new wife -- damn, I will miss that woman !!!!

Not speaking from experience

"Either I need a new Nuvi or a new wife -- damn, I will miss that woman !!!!", said rkf.

I have been happily married for 36 wonderful years, so I am not speaking from experience. With all the acquaintances and friends I know, and have witnessed the process and outcome, it might be cheaper and less hassle to keep both the current Nuvi and the current wife.

You just might try a reboot on the Nuvi and a refresher course with the wife.

that's..

That's the way it should be.

New Wife

YOU must be the owner of the boat. It's hard to be looking for a good wife and a good boat at the same time.

me too

cameras too expensive

Cities in my part of Georgia are turning off the red light cameras. Turns out that once the cameras were installed, everyone stopped running the lights. Now the cameras are too expensive to keep, so they are being turned off.

cameras too expensive?

I don't believe that even a little bit! All they have to do is play the shell game like NYC does, lots of empty box's and a few cameras.

Not that I like the cameras or anything!

"The new law says the two cities that already have the cameras, Jackson and Columbus, must take them down by Oct. 1. Other cities and counties are banned from starting to use them."

Here is the coverage in the Memphis paper.

Here's why.

Per the Memphis paper coverage of this new law in MS.

"Several lawmakers complained the cameras were an invasion of privacy and their constituents thought they had been unfairly ticketed."
