265wt and bluetooth pairing problems

Does anyone have trouble pairing their 265t 265wt. When I pair the phone, it shuts off the gps.

I have a motorola w755. Also, I don't have a "contacts" menu on the gps, so I have to dial my contacts from the phone

update

Have you updated the unit via WebUpdater? Here's (I beleieve) the most recent changelog:

Changes made from version 4.40 to 4.60:

* Improvements in Bluetooth performance on supported units.
* Improvements in GPS performance.
* Improvements to traffic support.
* Added night-mode elevation color.

Agreed

Be certain to use the updater if you are having any problems. If you are not having any problems, then I would probably make no changes since sometimes a Garmin update will fix one problem and create two new ones...

update problems

He is correct I ran the updater and now my phone book doesnt load properly on the nuvi 265wt anymore.
I am about to return it! I wil see what their tech support says in a few moments when they open up

Not supported

I just checked the Garmin site http://www8.garmin.com/bluetooth/phones.jsp and it doesn't list your phone as one that is compatible.

Regarding shutting of GPS, that is unusual. You might want to get in touch with Garmin. But I have 265WT and it connects withi just few seconds. Contacts, I have not seen this in a while so am not sure. I usually receive calls if necessary, but do not make calls if I dont have to.

My connects fine, but does not always work. Some times it freezes and won't answer the phone. I can't answer with the phone alone, because it is paired up. I just end up missing the call and turning everything off and back on.

The first thing I did with my new Garmin was go to webupdater. Now I'm not sure if I should call service or stop using bluetooth.

Same with my iPhone

Yes..............on third unit now first two sent back because I didn't know why they kept shutting off.........then on..........then off, then I finally figured it out. When paired with my iPhone after several days the unit goes on and off but if I turn off my iPhone Bluetooth or turn off bluetooth on GPS it works great. I love the unit and the features, and don't want to give it up but come on...two names like Garmin and iPhone can't get along????
Please someone out there tell me they have a fix for this.
By the way Monkey, did you happen to get yours at Amazon? I wonder if its just those units because I'm not seeing a lot of people complain about this on the net.
Any help???

speak now feature

I also have the 265wt and my phone pairs fine, but the speak feature doesn't work at first. If I dial the phone manually then that feature will work so I can then dial by speaking instead of dialing. Wierd.
I got it on Amazon and haven't had a bit of trouble with it. Though I have been busy hacking it. Added custom poi's, red light cams (complete with mp3 converted to wav sound), lots of vehicles, and edited aussy Karen's voice to say a lot funnier things than recalculating!

I have an odd problem... the

I have an odd problem... the Phonebook worked flawlessly for a while, but recently it stopped sending to the GPS unit. I have a 265WT. I guess I'll go and try the 5.0 firmware and report back. My phone is a Sprint HTC Touch Pro.
