Nuvi 260 Turn alert

Hello All,
My nuvi 260 has text to speech, but, if your going down the highway say 60mph the alert to turn comes too late. You'll miss the exit or turn every time. I have to watch the screen so I don't miss it. Is there a way to change this?? Has anyone else seen this on their device??
The version without text to speech does not have this problem, it gives you plenty of time.

I have a 260 too
My 260 gives me plenty of time. At 60 mph it gives me the first turn warning at .9 miles, then the second warning at .4 miles, then at the turn. It also shows the next turn in the green bar at the top of the screen for several miles before you get there, so I always have plenty of time to prepare, to be in the correct lane and ready for the maneuver.
If yours isn't doing that then it has a problem.
If it is doing that and that isn't enough warning for you then you're the one with the problem.

Yep, mine gives plenty of warning too. I would check with Garmin.Have you been updating the firmware recently?

Our 260
gives us plenty of warning. Suggest you check firmware version. Version 4.30 had a turn notification problem. Garmin put out 4.40 that fixed it. I think 5.0 is out now and haven't heard of any problems (like you describe) with it. Hope this helps....

Thanks for the feedback everybody. Mine gives me one warning. As I said before if I'm on the highway and in the wrong lane theres no way I'm making the turn. I was on Garmin the other day and think I updated everything so I'll give it another try. Thanks again for the help.
Voice Setting
I am not sure but I am thinking if you have a non TTS voice selected you receive fewer voice commands. Be sure to check and make sure you have a TTS voice selected and if not change and see if that helps any.
I have a hunch....
...that he was somehow on the 4.30 update which killed the turn notification. If he has updated since then, he should be good to go.

Just checked my version
Just checked my version under settings,system,about and it says:
software version 5.0
Audio Version 1.1
GPS SW version 2.60m
However, if I go to the test screen (hold speedometer for about 10 seconds) and select any of the Shutdown parameters, they all say:
Build: Software Version 4.30
I know I'm looking too deep. I'll test it tomorrow going to work.

It was the version. I tested it today and it gives me more than enough warning. Thanks again for all the help!!
