Why are Gaqrmin 7x5s not listed...

Any one know why Garmin 7x5s not listed in the Updates & Downloads section of the Garmin web site? How will we know if an update is available unless we use webupdater all the time? What about not having a high speed connection available all the time? You cannot just download the update file then update your unit at a later time.

Garmin is becoming very inconsistent when it comes to unit software updates. No updates for the 7x5 series are posted here either:

But at the same time, they list updates there from just a few days ago for the nuvi 8x0 series.
Garmin seems to be moving away from the direct download method for updating unit software and moving over to WebUpdater where the updates are not listed at the above link.
Why they're doing this for some models and not others, only Garmin can tell you.

Well, it's not only the 7x5 series, it's most of the newer nuvi xx5 series not being listed here:

I can only guess, but think that it's not the highest priority for Garmin to update their web pages for their newest lines of nuvis.
For now, as you say, you can run the WebUpdater every now and then. Better yet, simply monitor the postings here on POI Factory since a link to a new nuvi 7x5 firmware update will likely be posted within a day or two of it being available. Even better, these POI Facotry posts may offer reasons to hold off on a given update if folks are experiencing glitches after the update.
