It's All About Shadows

The Arizona Cardinals almost won the Superbowl, but fell into the shadow of the Steelers in the final moments. It was a good game, in my opinion, not being a blowout in either direction and the outcome decided in the end.

Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow this morning, predicting another six weeks of winter. We won’t get into the fact that the first day of spring is on March 20th. Coincidently, it is six weeks away. I can’t see how this groundhog could go wrong!

Oh, and I am in the shadow of being near the top of this week’s posting.

People around this area normally react to storm news by emptying the store shelves of milk and toilet paper. One of our friends prepares by stocking cookies and ice cream. I like that idea better,

excellent superbowl

excellent superbowl yesterday. Exciting last few minutes. I didn't think Pitt deserved to win but they pulled it out. Pitt didn't have any offense after the first 17 minutes of the game. And defense wasn't that good either.

What Superbowl?

Did I miss something? When was the Superbowl?

Superbowl does not matter to me. More to my liking here in Phoenix this week is what the Arizona Repulsive is saying "As for the rest of the week, the Valley will have nothing but sunshine and clear skies, with temperatures ranging in the upper 70s to 80s." Near record temps, darn not again!

That is all that matters to me.

I hate the steelers,

I hate the steelers, naturally.

not a fumble

Am I the only one who saw that the Warner fumble that ended the game was actually an incomplete pass? And it wasn't even reviewed! The Cards should have had another play, and should have had another 15 yards for a celebration penalty - the game could have been significantly more exciting if the Cards got the last shot they were supposed to have.

The Wisconsin version of Phil, Jimmy the Groundhog, saw his shadow too. When experts all agree, it's time to pay attention!

What a Game!!!!

I have to agree with alot of people.. the refs were pretty bad in this thing. the roughing the passer penalty on big ben was not a penalty. the ruffing the kicker (holder-punter) was iffy too... i feel sorry for the cardinal, he was going full throttle... not alot of people can put on the breaks in an instant. i was $#!+ing bricks when the cards took the lead. i was a hoping and a praying. and the last warner fumble...what it a fumble, was it an incomplete pass, who knows. i would have swarn on my kids that the officials were gonna review that and they didnt... i was in shock...then i cheered and screamed... we won, its over!!! now i can say to the dallas cowgirl fans... hey, got 6... we do!!! lol... loosers.

Good Game

On the last play for the Cardinals, it appeared that Warner's arm was moving forward. The interception just before the half cost the Cardinals the game. At that point they should have scored and would have taken a lead in addition to getting the ball to begin the 2nd half. It was a good, close game that was worth watching.

Going to Texas

My wife and I will be going to Terrell, TX next week to welcome the arrival of our new grandson to be born on the 10th.So I;ll get to use my GPS again. This time I;m going to find a route that doesn't have me driving through Dallas. I'm thinking of going to Greenville, from there it looks like a almost straight shot to Terrell, We'll be leaving from Albuquerque.

Happy Ground Hog Day

Six more week of nice weather??

Looking for Denny's

Guess I need to plug Denny's into my trusty GPS and head for breakfast.

ghosts in the system? Things are strange in Silver Lake This AM

Last night my wife discovered her closet bar (a 3/4" galvanized pipe) had come free from it's mounts for no apparent reason, dumping her clothes all on the floor. (The mounts were still securely attached to the wall) After scratching my head, I put the bar back in place and helped rehang the clothes)
This morning I washed the cats dish in the kitchen sink, walked to the bathroom used the commode, went to the sink to wash my hands and brush my teeth and discovered the water was off. I thought that's strange and went back upstairs and checked for water at the kitchen sink, another bathroom and at a hose bid... No water. I called the DWP and was informed there were no problems in my area, so I opted to hold, to report a problem. While I was waiting I went back into the kitchen and tried the water again... It was back on in all areas... Am I in the Twilight Zone??? shock

Watching grass grow

Ever hear the expression? Well, I'm doing it. Things are really slow in the trucking business. Will somebody start spending so I can move freight?!!! Oh look! That blade of grass grew another 1/1000 of an inch!

Yep, Jack was all rested up from the last trip and now we are in Florida-- surprise birthday for my son's big 40 B-Day. Jack likes to travel and show me the sights. I did sent him to the computer for some training and more info, also to re-learn of some of the guidance he provides.

Now back to Dallas for more travels.

Twilightzone?

I can only hope the water didn't go south before you had a chance to flush the used commode. Now that would be the Twilightzone around here!

Yeah I think it would be best to keep the water off your GPS unit. Unless of course its in a zip lock baggy, they're amazing at times.

I hear it cost them upwards of 15 million dollars for that national campaign. It was pretty ballsy with todays economy on their part, I hope it works for whatever the reason was they decided to to it, other than to get people to come in the door.

Best exciting game in history

tomkovacic wrote:

Started as a blowout and then a lull. Then Cards scored. Then the longest interception return in NFL history. Remember there were two reviewed calls, , one touchdown was reversed and the other was verified to be a touchdown. Great high speed, high definintion cameras aided in the reviews. Both reviews were instrumental and momentem swings.
The last two minutes were the deciding minutes of the game. WOW! what great plays were made. I was very happy it was not a blow out. It was a game that will be hard to top in the future.

Late Spring Trip

Ola
Each year since retirement we do a loop drive trip from western Iowa

Did the loop through Yellowstone, The loop through Grand Canyon, The loop through Winnipeg CA. Loop through Mackinac Island and Bridge. Love our GPS.

This late Spring we think; Iowa to Thunder Bay through Canada to Niagara Fall and back. Any cool first-hand recommendations for sights in Canada between TB and NF?
Thanks
