Address Info (requesting from large companies)

Has anyone here had success with emailing large companies in order to obtain a complete list of all their locations??? I know most of the folks here have experienced the frustration of the store locators that give you five locations for each search. Would y'all please share any tips for obtaining this info.

I have yet to hear back. I

I have yet to hear back. I have emailed several, even sent a POI file that had some locations and the silence has been deafening. Oh- I did hear back from one - they said to use the web which only gave the 5 stores closest to the zip you entered. Not at all friendly if you happened to be visiting a city and had no clue as to the zip.

It would seem that they

It would seem that they would want people to know where there stores are so we can spend money there.

I have requested lists and been ignored..

I think it depends on the company...

I've thought about it, but never made a request. I guess it boils down to the old "You don't get, if you don't try" I should probably try.

It has been mey experience that

The store websites are about the best resource...

Most refer you back to their website.

Most refer you back to their website, Toyota USA was one exception. They sent me a text file containing the info.

Also Bojangles were VERY good about it. They also included future planned openings and updated me several times as changes were required.

I was also surprised...

by the lack of interest of the company. I sent an email directly to the marketing director of a local restaurant chain (found it from their website), and all I got was a terse email back that I should use their website to obtain the addresses. Seeing that I had already done that and found it was a location based search--you only got the few closest to you--I wasn't about to go to try to find all the locations by trying many, many searches.

It does seem odd to me that what we're trying to do would only aid these companies in their publicity--in effect doing their work for them! And yet they insist on making it difficult to help them.

Question

Are you sending the request to the webmaster? I would think they would be more willing to help than the marketing folks.

Same Here

I've tried requesting the info too but haven't received anything. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

After the POI file was created from web site data, I've informed them of the POI file that it would be valuable to post on their web site but I don't think there have been any takers yet.
