Copy way points and routes from Quest 1 to Nuvi 755t

It's my first post to POI Factory, glad to know there is a support group like this. I've been using my Quest 1 for the last 3 years and now have a new Nuvi 755T. I'd like to get all of my waypoints and routes copied from the Quest over to the Nuvi but don't quite know where to start. I have the Quest data saved to my PC in City Navigator 2008 version. Just updated the 755T to the 2009.1 maps and I don't want to overwrite anything from the old 2008 PC stuff.

Connect the Quest to MapSource (or EasyGPS) and send the data from the unit to MapSource.

Then connect the nuvi to MapSource and use the "Send to Device" button to send the routes and waypoints to the nuvi.

Map version issues of compatibility

Hmm. Sounds simple enough. Thanks. Since I just updated my 755 to the 2009.10 maps and my PC has a much older City Streets version is that going to make a difference?

It will make no difference whatsoever.

To elaborate a bit on Motorcycle Mama's reply, note that you cannot send saved tracks to the nuvi as it's not capable of receiving them, even if MapSource said the track was sent & even if the saved track came from the nuvi itself. Track transfers are one-way only; from the nuvi to MapSource but not from MapSource to the nuvi.

Alternate note

Great! Thanks for all the kind help on such a simple question for this new guy. I'll give it a try today.

On an alternate note - is there a way to have my PC version updated to the newer 2009.11 maps - already did the update of maps to the Nuvi 755.

Just run the update program again. You will probably have to connect your GPS unit to your computer when you do it. Although it should have done it the first time.

Yep. Worked just as you

Yep. Worked just as you said. Got all the waypoints I'd saved for the last several years copied down to the new Nuvi 755. Works great. Next task is to load some custom POI's. Stating today with the freeway rest areas. Thanks again for all the help.
