See the link in the 2nd message in this thread:-

These are Garmin compatible maps that have been derived from the OpenStreetMap project.

Two comments, hopefully

Two comments, hopefully those new roads will be included in future updates, if you don't want to wait a year, you could get the quarterly updates. No guarantee when they will be added of course. Perhaps emailing where we send error reports would get them added quicker?

Second, for a few roads you could make them POI's or favorites so at least you can navigate to them. Making them a POI would at least mark them on the map.

no faster

Even with quarterly updates it will take the same amount of time for a addition to post to the map data base.

OSM & Cloudmade

Phil's on the right track. Open Street Maps is probably the fastest way to correct map data (yourself) and dl it to a Garmin. And, it's to maps what POI Factory is to POI's.
Only issue is that the maps won't be routable right out of the box. I haven't experimented with making them routable, but I know it can be done & I think all with open source tools. But the maps start out where everyone's do (in the US), from govt Tiger data. You can use their web interface or download opensource software to edit on your PC & upload back to the server.

Cloudmade compile the OSM maps weekly I think, and make them available for free.

It's about the Line- If a line can be drawn between the powers granted and the rights retained, it would seem to be the same thing, whether the latter be secured by declaring that they shall not be abridged, or that the former shall not be extended.
