When I hooked up my garmin 265wt using the webupdater it said no map updates available. Then I logged into myGarmin.com and it said there was an update available. I downloaded and installed the 2009.11 update. How come the webupdater didn't inform me of the map update?
WebUpdater handles firmware updates as well as voice files if applicable.
WebUpdater does not have any interaction with the map updates.
Well!! After changing all the security settings on my computer and allowing active x controls and removing the pop-up blocker...nothing worked on my computer, however I have a second slower computer and that is where I downloaded and after 4 hours finally I download and install the update.
I printed the instructions and that is funny because most of them don't follow the steps, I noticed the following:
1.-the download never asked me for the unlock key to proceed
2.-the so called re-start and continue with the download never happened
3.-I noticed a faster reboot and a faster loading maps
Since the download never asked me for the unlock key, maybe I can use the same download to a second nuvi that I have??

No when you hook up another unit it will ask you for the product key.

webupdater doesn't check for map updates, just firmware, vehicle, voice and text files.
