Garmin 265WT Question

Question for people with the 265WT. I got one for xmas and it died 2 weeks later. The first one i got was working well until it died. The power cable had the light on the top of power plug just a little red light. The new one seems to work a little different. It does not give as much notice of upcoming turns and the power light on the cable in a rectangle at the rear of the power plug. It is also a lot larger plug,so much so i cant use the cup holder anymore. Are these models that were made at different time or what. Any help would be great. AM thinking about returning this one and trying again as it seems to run so much slower than the last one.

The power plug has the FM traffic receiver built into it making it larger then the standard power cable.It should be the GTM 25 cable.Look on the lower end of the cable and you will see the number.This is the site that will show you what it should look like. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=203&pID=14994# Also on page 25 of your owners manual you will see layout of the cable.
I have used my unit on two trips so far and had no problems getting enough notice on the turns.You also have arrow on top left of screen that shows the next turn and what direction.This unit has not been out very long so I would think they would all look the same but who knows anymore with all the changes lately.If you haven't downloaded the owners manual yet you will find it at https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?cID=134&pID=13430
