New use for Nuvi

I bought a 4 gig SDHC card for my Nuvi then found out that my computer can't read it. I thought I'd have to buy a separate reader to load it, but then I got the idea to try it from my Nuvi. Turns out that the Nuvi works as a reader! When I plugged it in the Nuvi came up as a drive and the card inside it came up as separate drive. I was able to load files onto it and then take it out of the Nuvi and put it into my MP3 player which could read them too.
I thought I'd share since XP not being able to read SDHC cards seemed to be a pretty common problem elsewhere on the web.

I bought an 8GB Transcend card when I purchased my 765T for mp3's, and it works fine in the nuvi, and reads fine on my PC using a USB card reader/adapter, and directly in the card reader built into my laptop, both running XP, Service Pack 3.
In addition to a ton of mp3's, I keep a copy of the 765T manual in pdf form, some bookmarks of some GPS related sites, as well as specific posts from here, in case I want to look at either using someone else's computer while on a trip.
In addition, I have a pdf manual of another mp3 player that I have, the pdf manual for my cell phone, plus a text file of important information I might need while traveling.
But regardless, it is a good tip to point out that the nuvi mounts with two drive letters, one for the unit, and one for the card.

XP patch for > 2G SD cards
I thought I'd share since XP not being able to read SDHC cards seemed to be a pretty common problem elsewhere on the web.
I had the same problem with a 4GB SD card and my desktop computer. It would not read anything larger than 2GB cards. I was able to download a small update file from the Microsoft support site that took care of that. I don't know why XP's "auto update" feature never caught and fixed that, but there is a manual update available.
