I created a POI file and submitted it but it isn't showing up. Does it take a certain amount of time before it is published?

Miss POI usually does a review
Miss POI usually does a review of new POI files to make sure that they are correct in format and are acceptable to the site and users ! May take a day or so !

It must be reviewed by "management" first.
Don't know what you submitted but TINY little lists covering a dozen or less locations are generally not very useful......unless the locations are REALLY unique in some way.

Thanks for the info!
New POI Files
New POI files are placed in a folder for the site administrators to verify before being posted for download. The data in the files is checked and sometimes the entire file is verified before being made available.
Have patience, John and Miss POI will get to it shortly and if there are no major problems, they will make it available for all.

It's the first time I have done this so I wasn't sure. Thanks for all of your help!

Your file is now published, thanks for submitting it. I have also attached it to the POI Package on this page: http://www.poi-factory.com/node/9162 I am sure that all North Carolina Dunkin Donut fanatics will appreciate having this file, thanks for sharing.
Dunkin Donuts North Carolina
A man with one clock knows what time it is, a man with two clocks is never sure.
I'm very confused by this file. I do live in North Carolina, but I currently have the Dunkin Donuts USA POI file on my GPS. While there is a lot of POI data for other states that I simply don't want on my device, it does seem like it would be handy to have out of state Dunkin Donuts show up when I travel.
So this bring up many questions. What is the source of your data and is it more up to date than the DD_USA file? Did you just extract the North Carolina records from the national file? Is your data more current or accurate that that in the USA file, and if so is there any effort to getting the national file corrected to match your data? Not wanting to have two Dunkin Donuts POIs show up for every store in NC, but wanting good accurate data and spending most of my time in NC, which file should I use?
Just a suggestion.

Why is everybody else doing everything wrong? Life isn't run by one person's "standards" ... lighten up a little! This individual has only been a member for two weeks; and he/she is already contributing POIs (gpx format, yet). I, for one, appreciate their efforts. If you feel a need to question their POI, they probably would appreciate you using their contact link instead (it is active).

I couldn't agree more RT !
In 2 weeks submitting a POI file already is pretty impressive.

what the heck did I say that you have a problem with?

I don't remember any criticism here. I believe I asked questions. Maybe this person is an insider at the regional level with the company and has much better information than the Dunkin Donuts USA POI file. If so that would be great to know, it would be much better to have more accurate information, and it would seem helpful to ask if they are working to get this information submitted to the DD USA maintainer and have the national file updated. If they extracted the NC locations from the national file so that people could just have a smaller subset that used less GPS overhead and less memory, then it would be nice to know that too, so I and others wouldn't have to wonder which is the more current set of data. Where do you see that I criticized this person in any way? Where do you find that I told them to do anything to "my standards"????
If anyone here is jumping on someone else, you might want to look at your own actions.
Yes, I did think about making a private contact. But I didn't see what I wrote as in an way critical. Or in any way that it is something they would feel I should only ask privately or would not want to discuss openly. I'm certainly new here too, and am not in a position to be contacting this person privately to tell them what to do or not to do. This seemed to me to be perfectly valid questions to ask in the public forum, and I suspected that I might not be the only person to wonder which of these two files to use.
And Again, A Suggestion!!!!
Yes, I did think about making a private contact.
So why didn't you? Most people would prefer being 'questioned' (that's what you called it) in private, not publicly on an open forum. When I see someone being publicly 'harrassed' (that's what I call it), I'm not going to sit back and quietly let it happen.
Responses to some of your postings indicate I'm not the only one who sees several of your postings as publicly questioning (including using swear words) ones abilility, knowledge, correctness, and most everything else. As I suggested previously, the 'contact' link was put here for a reason ... please use it!

HI Everyone!
Sorry for all the confusion - I am SO NEW at this! I didn't realize there was a bigger Dunkin Donuts file that encompassed everything. I guess people could just use mine for local NC ones if that is all they need. I'm new so I am still learning. Thought it would be fun to contribute and see if I did okay! Thanks

Who is the maintainer of the Dunkin donuts file
I have searched but am unsure who the maintainer is. I see there are several states represented. I would submit a new location such as -85.399499,31.189792 at address 2000 Ross Clark Circle, Dothan, AL, but I don't know who to send it to.

I have added that location to the CSV file. Can someone add it to the GPX file and then send it to me so I can upload it to the site please?
Thanks,
Miss POI
