I was lucky enough to see these guys a couple of weeks ago here in Boise at the Taco Bell arena. They rock!!! I love their show.

This one should be really interesting.

Miss Poi

Excellent

Yes they do Rock, I am sure this show will really be awesome for us who keep up with the Speed Cameras. Thank you Miss Poi.

MythBusters

One of my favs and definitely worth watching. I can watch their reruns and not be bored. It will be interesting to see an un-biased experiment of the speed camera.

I wish I knew where Adam gets his t-shirts. Especially the " I do all my own stunts".

thx for the head up. I love

thx for the head up. I love their show too. Wonder if they also include device/method that obscure the license plate or making the license plate extremely glossy so the red light camera can't read the numbers correctly. There are some sprays available to make the license plate glossy for camera's flash but normal for human eyes.

Cool!! Love the

Cool!! Love the Mythbusters. Got the DVR set.

Sometimes they are far from

Sometimes they are far from the mark. I've noticed this when they examine subjects that I know extremely well.

Mythbusters

Yeah, it seems like they often make assumptions or leaps of logic that don't quite make sense.

But how can you not love an exploding cement truck?

Love Myth Buster but

Love Myth Busters but sometimes they are far from the mark. In the Radar/Laser Gun Episode, They were engineering devices that greatly enhanced the Radar or Laser guns range and effectiveness. Although painting the car totally Black was right on, they forgot the HeadLights which is where the officer is trained to point the Lidar gun. I don't think they really understand this technology. It does make Great TV though.

Just a note:

Active Laser Jammers do work ( Trust Me )

Here's an active Laser Jammer at work
against a Kustum Pro Laser III.
You will see that the Silver Corvette can not
have it's speed taken ( JTG )

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiFbkyjI7nk

First off there are two basic types of jammers, active and passive.

Passive jammers claim that they can disrupt a police radar or laser signal by reflecting back to the officers gun. These passive devices do not work.

Active Jammers on the other hand are very effective in jamming police laser.

Rocky Mountain Radar Jammers are a Prime Example
of a Passive Jammer that I know for a fact
* doesn't work *.

RMR are Passive Jammers and do not posses
enough power to ( JTM ) Jam The Gun.
Plain and simple Passive Jammers don't work

I could go into very advanced reasons why
but that sums it up nicely.

However I do agree......

I did a quick search on google and they sell the "I do all my own stunts" shirt on amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/ALL-OWN-STUNTS-Funny-T-shirt/dp/B000JQ... and some other funny shirts too.

Which active jammers are best?

The Jammer market is so full

The Jammer market is so full of spies, back-stabbers, traitors, and lawsuit happy nutballs, corruptly paying off websites to do fake reviews, no one knows.

I would go with either the

I would go with either the Escort Shifter ZR3 or the BLINDER M40-X Treme.

Now remember that "Laser Jammers" are legal but "Radar Jammers" are not.

There is a loop hole in the law that doesn't cover the transmission of light which is what Laser is. Radar is a different story because you are transmitting a Radar Signal. You have to have a license to transmit a radar signal according to the law.

There is a company that makes Radar Jammers but Radar Jammers tend not to work all that well because they fall out of tune. With todays Digital KA band police guns this is a huge risk to take.... I wouldn't recommend a Radar Jammer. Plus, if you get caught it's a felony...... not so with laser jammers.

As iolinux333 said above, you will deal with shady people in this business so stay away from ebay and places like that....

I've dealt with this company before and I highly recommend him... Great guy..... I'll always give him my business.

If you would like to talk to people about RadarBusters.com, here is a forum that will back up what I say.... Just start a post asking
about this company... Trust me you will get many positive replys. Great guy !!! This forum deal with Radar detectors and Jammers. We're not talking about Cobra's and other detectors that are flawed, We're talking about Escort, Valentine, Beltronic's and other high end detectors.

Look, my post is, like most stuff on the net, worth about as much as the paper it is printed on, but I'm going to try to save some of you folks some walletache:

That forum is FILLED with liars, and posers pretending to be customers, when they are really scamming everyone about the laser jammers. The blinder is a joke, and the Escort shifter barely works.

I'm not going to say anything more about this, no matter what.

Understandable.... But

Understandable.... In all honesty it depends on what lidar gun your up against and how good you've mounted your sensors.... Lidar is about 18 inches wide at 1000 feet so you have to mount your sensors within an 18 inch radius of your headlights. This isn't rocket science but science is involved. The Kustom Pro Laser III is the easiest to jam.... Most of the time it will Jam all lidar guns up to 500 feet then the officer gets a lock..... That gives the person more then enough time to slow down. I've seen Kustom Pro Laser III's totally Jammed but the LTI-Ultralyte can be kinda hard sometimes.

I do understand how you feel there are some kids on there that have no idea what they are talking about. they just ramble on. On the other hand there are those of us who understand the science behind it and know what we are talking about.

In all honesty, I'm glad that people don't think they work especially Law enforcement. The more they think this the less likely they are to make a Law banning them.

I'm not promoting that site just have found some good info on there by others that know the science. Just take what I say with a grain of salt and make your own decision. Don't want anyone to get upset so I won't bring up this subject again unless I'm asked.

Just go on You Tube and hunt down some videos.
You'll see what I'm talking about.

just some points

I agree with you. What I think they missed is a device that I think is called flashback. It detects the flash from the camera and flashes its own to over expose the picture. Also when Adam was testing the plate blockers he was taking the pictures head on which is not how they are really positioned in real life. And when they were trying to beat the camera by out running it they were not going against a installed setup but a collection of components. I have seen a episode of Top Gear where they did do the same test and at over 140 you are out of the cameras view when the picture is snapped.

Oh and yes active Laser jammers do work.

I love the Myth-busters, but they didn't take into account that many speed cameras are not STILL cameras anymore. They recored video segments that are reviewed by real people to determine if the car should get a ticket.

I also agree that the location of the camera they use in the show was correct and the results may be different if they put it up higher... Don;t know for sure...

Personally I like to slow down in areas like that. smile

I also think that the camera

I also think that the camera setup they used doesn't reflect what it would be in real life. The one license plate cover that showed some distortion would probably be unreadable if the camera was at the height it would normally be.

See my website for some free Garmin compatable maps: http://rwsmaps.griffel.se

My 2 cents worth

I love Mythbusters as well, but like many here, they can be off target. Their little segment about Radar/Lidar was off.

I am sure that there are ppl on radardectector.net that are liars and whatever, but there are (just like here) some very nice and knowledgable ppl there as well.

Orbital and I both belong there and we are both nice and knowledgable about radar detectors and such.

And about kari, keep dreaming guys! And stop making that picture of her dressed as Miss Santa Claus as your background!!!!! LOL.
