Hi everyone,
I've have a question about the calculated arrival time on the Nuvi 2xx series. I'm driving through several time zones, does the calculated arrival time shown at the local destination time zone or the time zone where you started ?
Thank you
Per the manual the automatic
Per the manual the automatic time zone will change based on location. My guess the arrival time will be based on the new time zone.
When you read the manual the 200W states the automatic time zone is there. But when you read manual on 200 it states set to on,off, or automatic if available.Leads you to believe some Nuvi 200 models may not have the software installed and others do.

Check travel time
I've have a question about the calculated arrival time on the Nuvi 2xx series.
A 2XX user can probably give you an answer BUT.....
you might get a good clue if you compare the arrival time with the calculated remaining travel time.

If it's a standard 200 that does not automatically adjust for time zones, the arrival time is for the zone the clock is set to.

The 255W does
I have a 255W and used it accross time zones and it does show ETA in the time zone of your destination. I specificaaly looked for this on both the travel to segment and the return segment.
Not on the 260W
Running SW 4.0 on my 260W. The ETA is calculated for the time zone set in the TIME menu. The GPS does not automatically change time zones as the auto passes into a new time zone, nor calculate what time zones POIs are located.
To get local ETA, I've got to manually change the time zone to that of the arrival POI.

This doesn't seem to make sense
BUT you could be right.
on the 255W, which is a very similar unit I actually watched the time change on the main menu screen when going from Illinois (central) into Indiana (Eastern). The time updated to the new time zone as I crossed the border and my ETA on the trip navigation screen remained at the same time, which ended up being my arrival time.
Some Do, Some Don't
On checking the various manuals, the nuvi 2x5 models do have automatic time zone calculations. The 2x0 models (at least the older ones, like mine) do not. They must be manually set to the appropriate time zone. All caluculations then are in that time zone.
At least that's the way I read the manuals...

You're right
It makes sense that as they add newer models, Garmin would take this into account. I wasn't even looking for this feature when I purchased the 255W, but was pleasantly surprised when I noticed it.
Think Again
I purchased a 770 in the past two months and it doesn't automatically change time or calculate arrival time in the correct time zone.
Pretty annoying considering my cheapie cell phone will update automatically and I have no idea, for example, where Eastern and Central time zones converge in Florida.
time zone
"When you read the manual the 200W states the automatic time zone is there. But when you read manual on 200 it states set to on,off, or automatic if available"
I think they mean that if you select EST during setup, for example, it will switch day light savings correctly.
I have the 200 and I know that it does not switch time zones for ETA and even when you travel through states. If I go from Georgia to California it will keep the EST time the entire trip.

Here is a breakdown by county in Florida what time zone they are in http://www.timetemperature.com/tzus/current_time_in_florida.... .
There is a custom poi file on site for time zones.

I got to try my 265wt out on the time zone change.I traveled from Central Florida to Fort Walton Beach. The arrival time showed for the new time zone that I would be entering .I also checked the clock and when I passed the sign for time change on I10 the unit clock changed automatically.Going down US 19 lots of speed changes and the speed limits that were showing on the screen were pretty accurate and I could watch them change will traveling down the road.Only found two areas for a short distance that were incorrect on US19.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
I have found out that the Nuvi 200w also change the clock automatically when going through different time zone and the arrival time is based on destination time zone. I drove from Houston, TX to Orlando, FL for Chrismas vacation (currently still in Orlando), this Nuvi perfomed perfectly. I don't even need any paper maps or any other sort of help on getting directions. It has the 2009 maps, can able to locate all the places where I want to go to.
Merry Christmas everyone.
